Anyone who believes that "It can't happen here" should take a close look at German history from the 1930s. A lot of the same political forces that were in play there are also in play here. It would be tragic if we allowed the same thing to happen to us.

The situation here is not really the same yet but if this loose fiscal
policy crashes the economy, it could be. The major difference is we
will never have a global war of attrition again and if we did, China
would win. We would nuke them first and probably end civilization as
    we know it.
The stakes are certainly high and the only thing anyone wants to talk
about seriously when they make voting decisions is abortion and guns.

The stakes are very high, and a large percentage of the population are
taking direction from a wannabe dictator who appeals to the lowest common denominator.

    2 different items.
Insurrection? A couple hundred people demonstrating and only gunfire is a Capo shooting an unarmed fat white women. Where was the security? It is always out in force for any demonstration! Nancy wanted an event!

    Election fraud?
Needs to be addressed! Chicago has always voted dead people. Towns with
more registered voters than population. We had people show up to vote
here and we’re told they already voted. Mayor of a far Northern California town voted there and in southern Oregon. No real penalty! Why not voter
ID? Don’t give me the crap it is a hardship for poor people. They need ID to collect welfare, go to the doctor, etc.

I agree that voter ID should be enacted. Studies have shown that there is no widespread fraud however - nothing that would have impacted the 2020 election results. Trump knew by mid-summer that he was behind in the polls and started his campaign to
cast doubt on the electoral process.

"Lowest common denominator"? There's that left and right coast liberal elite talk again. Can't change your stripes, and taking your cues from the left wing media and Sleepy Joe.

News flash for you. There's a huge percentage of what you think are Trump followers that don't think he should be POTUS again. They do, however, believe his policies were very good for our country, and that the liberals are taking our country in a
    completely wrong and destructive direction.

Modern day liberals want to turn this country into a plutocracy in which the liberal elite control the government, and stay in power through the enslavement of the people through re-distribution of everyone's wealth, except their own. Opening the
borders, making it easier to cast illegal votes, creating give-away programs that are paid for by the hard working Americans in order to buy votes, just to name a few. The MSM is in collusion, as are the universities that only allow liberal thinking and
instruction. The college loan give-away is just another example of pushing their liberal educational agenda and it's on the backs of the workers that evidently aren't good enough to receive the same kind of financial relief. Oh yes, they are the "
lowest common denominator", eh? They don't deserve it, as they don't vote for the liberals. Give it to the young entitled liberal voters and they'll be your voting base forever, along with the *illegal* immigrants that they are letting flow freely over
    our borders!

The liberal emperor you worship has no clothes.

Whom is doing the studies? Seems as if local newspapers have found lots of easy to find fraud. Look how much the Democrats have fought purging
election roles. Maybe make everyone reregister. My 95 year old mother
got mail in ballots for a couple years after she passed. Maybe connect the voter registration to the SS system, so is automatically purged when death
    is reported.

They always use the term "widespread" when claiming no fraud. What constitutes widespread? Is enough to turn a couple of swing states considered widespread, or is that just limited fraud? Of course, you know the studies are done by liberal university
think-tanks. Or as you nailed it, propaganda.

Everyone of the 2020 swing states where Trump claimed fraud were investigated by local officials in those states, many of them Republicans. They tried to do their job thoroughly and conscientiously, and were derided by Trump for their efforts. Georgia
is a good case in point where Republican Brad Raffenburg repeatedly told Trump that no evidence of fraud or error had been found, but Trump insisted that he try to "find" the 10,000 votes needed to swing Georgia's electoral count. This is not MSM fake
news - the calls were recorded and Trump's message is loud and clear.

With some practice you could become almost as good at trolling as Harry, dubious accomplishment however. :-)

We need to learn some subtle distinctions here (and in the rest of the country). Not everyone who opposes Trump is a radical liberal looking to deplete the treasury with "free stuff" giveaways. There's this middle ground called a moderate/conservative
Republican who has become lost in the noise. Good government has noting to do with waving guns, flags and making threats.

They always use the term "widespread" when claiming no fraud. What

Everyone of the 2020 swing states where Trump claimed fraud were
investigated by local officials in those states, many of them
Republicans. They tried to do their job thoroughly and conscientiously,
and were derided by Trump for their efforts. Georgia is a good case in
point where Republican Brad Raffenburg repeatedly told Trump that no evidence of fraud or error had been found, but Trump insisted that he try
to "find" the 10,000 votes needed to swing Georgia's electoral count.
This is not MSM fake news - the calls were recorded and Trump's message is loud and clear.

10,000 votes swing an election? Does not require wide spread fraud! JFK
won election via one state. And one area of that state. Chicago.

We got a taste of good government then Biden happened. I'd be
pleased as punch if a moderate Republican took over where Trump
left off and get this country back on track to a healthy
condition. We have seen what radical left wingers can do to trash
what Americans value. We need to be smarter about choosing who we
let run our country. We need to put petty personality choices
aside and concentrate on weeding out the empty suits, destructive
    idealogues, and greedy opportunists.
Don't let those crafty democrats continue to distract your
    attention from their destructive practices.

The way to get rid of Trump is to come up with a better candidate. It
certainly isn't Biden. There are perhaps a thousand better people than

I agree that voter ID should be enacted. Studies have shown that there is no widespread fraud however - nothing that would have impacted the 2020 election results. Trump knew by mid-summer that he was behind in the polls and started his campaign to
cast doubt on the electoral process.

You can't ignore the fact that our mediocre local NBC news station
found 20 illegal voters here just trying to fill 2 minutes of air
time. They probably spent 3 or 4 total hours on it. It proves nobody
    has ever really looked.

The assumption seems to be both sides commit fraud and it all comes
    out even.
Remember changing 268 votes would chosen a different president in
    2000 tho.

It reminds my of football where nobody pays much attention to where
the ball is spotted until it is close to a first down and then they
drag out chain and pretend this was precision.

OTOH when they do try to clean up the voter rolls they get accused of

They do have a hard time finding things that went wrong during Trump's
    term.
The main thing I hear is he was mean to the feckless Europeans but
    those deadbeats deserve it.
I have been saying NATO was an obsolete relic of the cold war for
years and we are seeing it play out in Ukraine. The big bad Russians
are getting their ass handed to them by Ukraine. It just came out that
they have to buy artillery shells from N Korea because they can't make
enough themselves. The idea that they would roll through the Fulda Gap
and take a nuclear armed Europe is ludicrous.

I was happy with how the economy ran, we tried to get some control of
the border. It is amusing that after all the bullshit, Biden is
continuing building the wall. The Covid response was as good as anyone
else and better than the lock down mentality of some places.
It was the first time since Carter that we were not in a new war or
    escalating an existing one.
I lived through LBJ, Nixon, Clinton and a couple Bushes. Finding out a president is rude and obnoxious is not shocking to me. Trump was just
    more frank about it.

Anyone who believes that "It can't happen here" should take a close look at German history from the 1930s. A lot of the same political forces that were in play there are also in play here. It would be tragic if we allowed the same thing to happen
    to us.
The situation here is not really the same yet but if this loose fiscal
policy crashes the economy, it could be. The major difference is we
will never have a global war of attrition again and if we did, China
would win. We would nuke them first and probably end civilization as
    we know it.
The stakes are certainly high and the only thing anyone wants to talk
about seriously when they make voting decisions is abortion and guns.
    .
    ===

The stakes are very high, and a large percentage of the population are taking direction from a wannabe dictator who appeals to the lowest common denominator.

Give it to the young entitled liberal voters and they'll be your voting base forever, along with the *illegal* immigrants that they are letting flow
    freely over our borders!

The liberal emperor you worship has no clothes.

    Well said!

It's important to remember that Mussolini made the trains run on time.

Yeah and Hitler wrote Mein Kamph in prison. Careful what you wish for.

At a certain point it is important what leaders accomplish tho.
We don't hire them for their charming personality (well I suppose some
    do)
It is more important what they actually do for us.
So far, your boy Biden isn't showing us much. The democrats, in
general, are pushing us backwards and Biden is their leader.
The latest is from the land of fruits and nuts where Newsom is
mandating electric cars (banning new ICEs in 2035) at the same time
when they can't charge the ones they have and he is pushing to pay
that high school dropout at McDonalds who can't even get your order
right to make $22 an hour. That is more than teachers and cops make in
    a lot of places.

Actually, it's not. So tell us how President Trump let us down
during his presidency other than his being a sore loser after the
election. The truth will come out over time and his claims might

Anyone who believes that "It can't happen here" should take a close
look at German history from the 1930s. A lot of the same political
forces that were in play there are also in play here. It would be
tragic if we allowed the same thing to happen to us.

A couple hundred people demonstrating and only gunfire is a >Capo shooting an unarmed fat white women. Where was the security? It is >always out in force for any demonstration! Nancy wanted an event!

    Election fraud?
Needs to be addressed! Chicago has always voted dead people. Towns with >more registered voters than population. We had people show up to vote
here and we’re told they already voted. Mayor of a far Northern California >town voted there and in southern Oregon. No real penalty! Why not voter >ID? Don’t give me the crap it is a hardship for poor people. They need ID >to collect welfare, go to the doctor, etc.

So, you're both stupid and uninformed. Got it.

There were a few. We had a black guy who was hooked on smack. I asked
him how he was getting away with it and he said he was high when he
was hired. They just assumed that was how he rolled.
It wasn't my job to burn him but someone who did have that job finally
figured it out. I stayed out of it. They sent him down the road with a
year or two of salary as a buy out.

better candidate. Itcertainly isn't Biden. There are perhaps a thousand better people thaneither of them in this country.

I doubt Biden will be fogging mirrors long enough to do much more
damage to this country. As for Trump. He started a movement that
I hope will survive and flourish.

left and right coast liberal elite talk again. Can't change your stripes, and taking your cues from the left wing media and Sleepy Joe.News flash for you. There's a huge percentage of what you think are Trump followers that don't think he should be
POTUS again. They do, however, believe his policies were very good for our country, and that the liberals are taking our country in a completely wrong and destructive direction.Modern day liberals want to turn this country into a plutocracy in which the
liberal elite control the government, and stay in power through the enslavement of the people through re-distribution of everyone's wealth, except their own. Opening the borders, making it easier to cast illegal votes, creating give-away programs that
are paid for by the hard working Americans in order to buy votes, just to name a few. The MSM is in collusion, as are the universities that only allow liberal thinking and instruction. The college loan give-away is just another example of pushing their
liberal educational agenda and it's on the backs of the workers that evidently aren't good enough to receive the same kind of financial relief. Oh yes, they are the "lowest common denominator", eh? They don't deserve it, as they don't vote for the
liberals. Give it to the young entitled liberal voters and they'll be your voting base forever, along with the *illegal* immigrants that they are letting flow freely over our borders! The liberal emperor you worship has no clothes.

1.4 inches with some 40 kt gusts in the last hour or so.

And we have the opposite here. Windy and 111 degrees. Supposed to break tomorrow. Hopefully as my high school reunion is Saturday and a lot of it
