A teenager suffered 'serious and potentially life-changing' injuries after being knocked off his bike in a hit-and-run. The 16-year-old was airlifted to hospital following the crash in Warrington on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the driver of the car - a silver Audi A6 - failed to stop and are now appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage. Emergency services were called to Winwick Road, one of the main roads through the town, at 4.15pm on Tuesday.
The boy remains in hospital. The Audi was later found dumped in an alleyway near Longford Street and Rhodes Street.
Sgt Anthony Gallagher said: "The victim in this case sustained serious injuries and we’re committed to doing all we can to trace the person responsible. This incident happened at a busy time of day and as part of our enquiries, we would like to hear
from anyone who witnessed this incident or has any dashcam or CCTV footage.
"The same goes for anyone who may have seen the suspected vehicle being abandoned or has any other information which could aid our investigation."
