Lets hope it doesn't become On Topic :(

[depending on your interpretation of "OT"]

You would like to think Apple has been thinking about this scenario
and would be looking at other manufacturing and assembly options. But
    pigs don't fly.

Not just Apple, what percentage of any computer/phone systems don't rely
on components from that part of the world?

Yes I realise that. But China needs to weigh up the potential impact on
its economy too. Let's also hope from North Korea isn't tempted to
invade South Korea although I don't think the US would standby and let
    Kim get away with it.

Well, they do have some capacity in India

Yes but they need to keep an eye on the working conditions and pay,
    especially after recent problems there.

That would depend on how busy they were in (say) Ukraine and Taiwan etc.

That’s great! I guess I must have missed the update.

From what I’ve read, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines,
Malaysia and Indonesia seem to be the places where most of the
manufacturing takes place - well at least for iPhones. Apparently Apple
are also looking at increasing production outside of China - India (as discussed above) and Vietnam seem to feature high on the list. Not much assembly seems to take place in the USA but maybe Apple will also enhance
    this?

But the real machinery for making things
    (the EUV lithography machines)
is made by ASML in Veldhoven, the Netherlands.

They can make more of the things,
and station them somewhere else in the world.
    But that will take time.
Anyway, they are not allowed to supply China
    with the latest generation.
So that willblock Taiwan too, if China takes control,
