I've been using Usenapp for a while now and since it started showing x-faces I've been trying to find my old x-face. I couldn't find it anywhere so i tried
to redraw it. As you can see it's a mess.
Would anyone have an idea how on earth I can find my old one? Is there an archive somewhere online that would include x-faces?
It's not on this machine - it vanished with the demise of MTNewswatcher.

I believe that there are archives of usenet posts that go way back. But I don't know if you can access the headers on them.
But I expect that you have already tried this!
John.

I found one in the header of your old posts.
I used it in this post so you can see what it looks like.

It is in zillions of old postings. Just get one,

Getting one was the problem.
I'm using a different news reader and a different news server.
Andre saved the day though.

Gooogle should do it.

Another good reason to use MacSoup.
It automatically builds an archive,
(through forgotten how many servers)

So I should go back in time and change the newsreader I'd been using all those
years? Sounds a bit complicated.

Yes, I remember your old x-face and, along with others, missed it when they all went away. I've sort-of got mine going again. Your most recent one is starting to look familiar. Persumably you binned all your old settings and none of that is an any backup or old disk sitting on a shelf?

Google didn't do it. It found many posts, but I couldn't grab the headers.
Your headers say you are with easynews.
They claim 5300+ days of retention, almost 15 years,
so they should have a posting of yours that is old enough.
(unless they don't keep non-binary)
I'm using a different news reader and a different news server.
Andre saved the day though.

No point in recreating the past. (but you could)
It should be easy to get all of ukcsm from them.
(using MacSoup, or any other convenient client)
It is less than a gigabyte, about 1 CDs worth,
one instalment of a series, or a quarter of a movie.
Text is really quite small,

I when searched.

Andre uses Eweka, another commercial provider
with about the same retention.
Here is an even older one for you,
