• DeSantis Now More Popular Than Trump in IOWA

Yep, Iowa - where the caucuses begin. Nearly two
years ahead of time, Trump's support has been
slashed and DeSantis has moved ahead.

Trump, alas, is probably un-electable. It's not
MAGA or his other policy tilts, wasn't he actual
practical job performance. It's TRUMP who is the
actual problem - he's intolerable. The very
"bigness" that beat HRCs star power became his
worst aspect. More would vote AGAINST him than
FOR whatever DNC candidate - just like 2020.

DeSantis has the power to persuade 'independents'
and even shallow Dems to The Cause - a unifier.

DeSantis is full tilt Trump MAGA, there's no way he can claim he isn't.
You might have noticed MAGA candidates were roundly rejected in the last election except in the heavily gerrymandered Republican districts.
That's not enough to get you into the White House now as we saw in 2020

Actually Cruz was a good candidate in '16 ... Trump
had to uncork the charisma to beat him down. Still
wouldn't mind a President Cruz, but, alas, his
personality is ALMOST as abrasive as Trump's.

2016 was a bit of a dilemma ... HRC indeed had "star
power" and can always come up with a good (BS) line
of rhetoric. I don't think anyone OTHER than Trump
could have edged her out. THIS time, the potential
"star" is Mrs Obama - but we'll see. For her, maybe
Haley would be the better foil ? If so, the GOP
needs to hype-up her profile quickly. Alas Condi
Rice is not going to play the game ........

That's not enough to get you into the White House now as we saw in 2020
    with Trump.

The GOP doesn't need to be reminded anymore that Trump is a loser.
Elected in 2016, he lost the House and Senate in 2018, lost the White
House in 2020 and his preferred candidates lost in their hundreds this
year. They lost governors, attorneys general, secs of state and more legislatures in 2022 in Republican districted states.

Kari Lake is probably the only candidate trying the Big Lie approach
now. Most other GOP race losers realized the Big Lie was a dead end.
Even moderate Republicans aren't buying it anymore.

Kemp got thousands more votes than Walker. That's called "ticket
splitting" and the Republicans suffered from it from coast to coast.

If Trump runs again, it won't be as a Republican.

And you think Donald Trump is going to defer to a politician he thinks
he "created"? He'll declare war on DeSantis and the whole Republican
party just out of petty revenge.

Which won't help him get their nomination but will split the party and
hand the White House and probably the Congress to the Democrats in
    2024.

Cheney and Kinzinger sacrificed their careers to stand up to him and I
