Trump is STILL the favorite to be the Republican nominee -
despite being blamed for disappointing midterms: New poll
shows 47% of GOP and independent voters would back him
compared to 33% for DeSantis and just 5% for Pence

    . . .

    (Note - beware polls)

    Not a surprise really.

There WERE some - self-admitted in interviews - who
said they just could not vote for anyone Trump
endorsed. However the numbers were likely small.

Trump has charisma - something his GOP opponents,
even DeSantis, kind of lack. He is a "bigger than
life" sort of character who tends to overwhelm
    competitors.

The negatives though ... Trump is skilled, but at
preaching to the converted. I do not think he
switched a single Dem/moderate to the GOP candidates
he endorsed. He is also incredibly ANNOYING ... few
can stand to listen to him. Whatever it is, it's
ALL ABOUT *HIM* personally. That gets OLD ....

The BIG PROBLEM for the GOP ... try to circumvent
Trump and he'll surely take revenge - run as a
3rd-Party/write-in and suck away half the GOP vote
out of pure spite ... give us HRC or someone like
her simply because HE wasn't selected. He IS that
self-centered, even as he preaches MAGA. DeSantis
and even Haley could expect to be ruthlessly
    carpet-bombed by Trump.

So ........... sorry ........... but the only sane
approach is to make sure Trump CANNOT run - and get
it done SOON, like before the new year. Supply the
Dem witch-hunters with everything they ever wanted,
stuff that adds up to felonious charges. Hope the
fanatic Dems don't catch on until it's too late.

Oh, and Pence ... NOBODY likes him. Bail NOW dude.
Save what rep remains. I do not disagree with
Pence - he really did NOT have the authority -
legal or moral - to do what Trump demanded. But
he's a very lackluster character alas, so DROP
IT dude. Find fame and fortune on the interview/
    lecture circuit.

Me, I'd be very happy with DeSantis, even Haley.
However the key is who the Dems run. If it's
someone 'heavy' and a good BS artist like HRC
    or M.Obama then there's a PROBLEM.

Final note ... polls ARE unreliable - however
what so many polls were saying just BEFORE this
election and the ultimate RESULTS are just too
distant to ignore. Probe. Offer big rewards
to whistleblowers. The Dems had two years to
find better ways to cheat. Indeed AZ and NV
really LOOK like they spent days and days
creating new ballots in the basement .....
so FIND OUT. No loud accusations - FIND OUT.

It's 1912 all over again. Popular GOP ex
president runs to get the nomination, fails,
forms a 3rd party, splits the Republcan vote,
    and the Democrat wins.

That's how it happened in '92 and '96.
