News reports that Zelenski is asking for a peace conference,

    https://globalgulag.us/ukraine-u-s-deceives-allies-to-keep-them-in-line/

The Biden administration launched a make-believe campaign that is
supposed to calm those European ‘allies’ who press for peace talks over Ukraine.
But, as the Washington Post provides, the alleged Biden push towards negotiations is a sham:

The Biden administration is privately encouraging Ukraine’s leaders to
signal an openness to negotiate with Russia and drop their public
refusal to engage in peace talks unless President Vladimir Putin is
removed from power, according to people familiar with the
discussions. The request by American officials is not aimed at pushing
Ukraine to the negotiating table, these people said. Rather, they called
it a calculated attempt to ensure the government in Kyiv maintains the
support of other nations facing constituencies wary of fueling a war for
    many years to come.

While U.S. officials share their Ukrainian counterparts’ assessment that Putin, for now, isn’t serious about negotiations, they acknowledge that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s ban on talks with him has generated
concern in parts of Europe, Africa and Latin America, where the war’s disruptive effects on the availability and cost of food and fuel are
    felt most sharply.

If Zelensky will now start to offer talks we know that it will not be
    serious but just for show.

Some 14 million Ukrainians have fled Ukraine. I would argue that the
ones that remain, most of whom seem to be older people who don't have
the economic means or motivation to abandon their homes no matter how
bad things get (like their counterparts who refused to leave Chernobyl's exclusion zone after the nuclear meltdown) are simply hostages (victims)
of comedian Volodomor Zelinsky's dictatorship. I would imagine that a
huge percentage of Ukrainians see the election of the comedian as
president as an unmitigated disaster that never would have occurred had Victoria Nuland and Hanoi Juan McCain (with Barrack Hussein Obama's
support) not orchestrated and funded the Maidan color revolution in Kiev
in 2014. Ukrainians have no more say or control of what Zelinsky does
than Americans have over what Joe Biden does with regard to fighting
Russians. Ukraine will probably never recover its industrial base from
    this totally unnecessary war.

    Oh?

Moscow did that last week qualifying it with a statement that now is
not the appropriate time for talks.

Not to be outdone, Zelensky replied there would be no peace talks at
all as long as Putin remains in power.

The US commented that there would be no peace talks unless Ukraine was
