OK ... kinda weird ... I have a conventional DTV antenna in
case the usual cable implodes because of natural factors or
disaster. Somebody is now airing France24/english ... which
has long been my first-look news page since American media
has become CRAP, esp for news about the USA.
France24 is pretty good. It's not super 'left' or 'right'
and it's relatively PROMPT about new relevant stories ...
a lot quicker than, say, the BBC site which only seems
to update on 24 hour intervals.
If you can't get it on-air, try
http://france24.com
Alas, these recs reveal a horrible truth - that US
"news" sites are almost USELESS if you want actual
"news" about the USA. They're all hyper-partisan
these days ... "disappear" any info that doesn't fit
their "narrative". Foreign sources aren't in sync
with American politics/culture, so you're far more
likely to get a more objective take on what the hell
is going on here (and in the larger world).
