I am 200% sure US would issue many strong words.
I am 50% sure US would conduct serious+ military reaction in hot war mode.
Naked words are cheap. I hope US "guarantees" for Taiwan would mean
more than US "guarantees" for no nukes Ukraine.
The best way to preclude war across the Strait is to encourage negotiation. Unfortunately,
the US is doing the exactly opposite. Partially forced by US partisan politics, it is doing
the utmost to discourage negotiation.
The US can say whatever it wants, short of a drug that can make Chinese people forget
their history, nothing can stop the PRC from recovering Taiwan, by force if necessarily.
