Job 2:9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine
integrity? curse God, and die.
You could write a book on that verse.
It is true, Job's wife was trying to get him to choose himself, not
God, like she chose herself (at that time) and not God.
Job was still at that point.
But this is the point that Job finally lost his life, choosing God
before all else...
(KJV)
Job 42:5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now
mine eye seeth thee. Job 42:6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent
in dust and ashes.
Job chose God. That didn't make him righteous; that made him dust and
ashes—what he really was. And now God had full control over the clay
to make him into the image of Himself in the Messiah to come.
Job would go down into the grave 'in the faith' to receive the
Messiah, along with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, and all those
others.
Now, "Christian," be not fooled by the lukewarm religionists seeking
followers or con yourself! Unless you come to that place of Job's
"abhorrence" and "dust and ashes," you'll always be serving yourself
in your religion (and in your bible) and not Him.
Very well said, MX! If I ever become a preacher, I'll hire you to write
my sermons.

Thanks man.
The only thing I would request is that you would be so kind as to
impart a blessing—a spaghetti bolognese that only those who know how
to cook it would cook.
Michael Christ
Oh heck yeah. The women in my family can make all sorts of delicious
dago food.

And I like it! :-). My friend's mother, years ago, used to start
cooking the Sunday lunch sauce on Saturday morning!
Michael Christ
Yes, that sounds about right.
A ton of Italians migrated to the US. A bunch went to the Pittsburgh
area to work in the steel mills and established communities. In my home
town, near Pittsburgh, almost everybody has an Italian name.
You'd be surprised at the variety of Italian foods. There are different variations depending on which part of Italy your family is from. Some Italians, e.g., never use tomato sauce.

Really? Okay.
My friend's family—I don't see them now because I travelled a lot—but
I remember all of us sitting around the table and yelling and
laughing and arguing and fighting over stupid things, but it was the
unity I loved.
I know what you mean. It's how people are supposted to live.
Two brothers will be going at it with hammer and tong, almost coming
to blows, but if a stranger criticises one of the brothers, the other
brother will rip his head off! :-).
Yeah, that isn't uncommon.
Beautiful! I love it!
Something many Australian families just do not have!
Michael Christ
I guess Australia didn't have the massive immigration waves we did
here. That's interesting. I've travelled all over the US, and there are
many places like that here, e.g. the southeast. Most of the immigrants
from Italy remained in the northeast.
Here's an interesting fact: Chicago has more Polish people than any
city in Poland other than Warsaw. And a lot of them are first
generation. You can't go to Chicago without encountering somebody who
moved there from Poland.
