TOP NAVAL COMMANDERS TO MEET IN DELHI
PNS

New Delhi - Amid ongoing tension between India and
Pakistan post-surgical strikes last month, top naval
commanders will review the Navy's operational
preparedness to meet any challenge during the three-day
conference starting here on Tuesday. The meet will also
take stock of indigenisation as part of Make in India
policy.
With all the three armed forces on full alert
anticipating a reprisal by Pakistan for Indian Army's
cross-border action against terrorist launch pads in
Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), the Commanders'
Conference will take stock of level of readiness of the
naval fleet, including warships, submarines and planes.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will address the brass
on the inaugural day.
The conference assumes greater significance in the
backdrop of recent events that have brought issues
related to the country's defence under sharper focus.
Indian Navy, like the other two Armed Forces, is required
to maintain a high degree of operational preparedness to
deter or neutralise any threat aimed at the country's
sovereignty and territorial integrity, officials said
here on Monday.
