Walmart worker reveals its clever strategy to stop shoplifting
at self-checkout counters and the handheld device used to detect
thieves - as customers turn 'hostile'

Walmart uses a missed-scan detection technology at its
self-checkout machines to help reduce theft

This has caused customers to act confused, defensive or at
    times aggressive

Employees say that buyers have begun throwing merchandise
    at their faces

    . . .

    First off, if there's nothing but "self-checkout" - a
horrible tech - then just LEAVE. Tell 'em WHY too.

Checkout scanners are indeed horrible ... OFTEN
miss, or double/triple-count, whatever you put
near them. This new tech does NOT fix any of
that - instead it is dedicated to prosecuting you
for what IT thinks you didn't scan.

Time for class-action lawsuits. Lots of them.
The company DEFAMES you, BRANDS you, then
likely SELLS that info, over failures in its
    crap tech.

Some big retailers imagine they're gonna save
money with 'self' tech. One less human to pay.
Instead it seems to cost them MORE humans, and
threats of lawsuits that more than negate any
    fiscal advantage in 'self'.

Oh, and if their employees are injured because
of this shit, THEY will sue big too and likely
    bring in state/federal job-safety entities.
The cops who have to be brought it all the time
to DEAL with this stuff ... that's a lot of
taxpayer money wasted as well - consider FINES
    for bullshit calls .......

    "Self" still sound good ???

    END THIS.

    "Store Check-Out Person" is a time-honored
"people job" that pays the rent and does not
require a college degree. Customers LIKE dealing
with humans at the counter too. What idiot
bean-counters ever persuaded retailers to go
for "self" ??? Retailers should sue THEM.

Meanwhile, I'm dumping my WalMart stock,
looks like it's heading the way of K-Mart
and Woolworths ..... bad management can do
far more harm than 'market forces'.

You are just another dogooder that wants to tell others how to run their business/families/religion/et al. Most walkouts with unpaid merchandise
are not chased down due to the liability involved. I highly recommend
that you get a life and stop shop-lifting at Walmart and other
mercantile businesses. I doubt seriously you have stock in anything
including Walmart. As for Walmart bankrupting..Anything is possible, But Walmart is going head to head with Amazon and we will see what happens
    in the future.
