Not really much to "investigate". These were SUPPOSED
to be "Scout" - educated in self-reliance and survival.
They are NOT, so it seems.
The "sham" aspect comes to mind .
Now, 1940s/1950s, such "Scouts" WOULD have been able
to take charge and survive nicely - and ENJOYED it
as proof of their powers/training.
Time to put more "paramilitary" back into "scouting".
They need to be able to COPE with Bad Shit. At
present "scouting" has become just a wimpy social
club with meaningless uniforms and accomplishments.
Hey, the world is getting WORSE - better have SOME
groups who can cope and eventually LEAD if things
go totally tits-up. "Best intentions" are fine, but
actual SKILLS count heavily as well.
