What's behind the US baby bust? Americans are prioritizing careers
and leisure activities over having a family... as experts say this
has set the US on an irreversible path to economic destruction

America's fertility rate dropped to 1.6 in 2020, continuing to
fall below the replacement rate of 2.1

    Good graph at : https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2023/01/16/17/66633019-11628235-image-a-1_1673891474818.jpg

Looks like the Dakota's are the only ones contributing to the future.

In 1800, having SEVEN children was the norm (but assume half
might die before adulthood). By 1900 it was down to about 3.75
    children.

In Japan it's 1.3 - WAY below replacement rate. All of a
sudden Japan seems a LOT more inclined to accept foreign
    workers/residents despite it's legendary xenophobia.

    . . .

Maybe THAT'S what all the "Mexicans" are for ???

So, you THINK they're gonna see all their wages sucked
    up supporting old gringo's ???

Fecundity, with humans, seems to revolve around their
sense of "safety", "contentment". There's no NEED to
have half a dozen kiddies just so one or two will
support you in your old age. In 1800 things were still
kinda 'wild' and yer family was also your "private
army". Neither are needed in today's USA - so, people
don't HAVE many kids. Sorry, kids are an expensive drag ....

Now if you could just order some and get 'em from the
end of a long glass tube, preferably pre-potty-trained,
maybe they'd be more popular :-)
