My tax refund under Trump has been 40% of that which i got under Obama. There is a "worker shortage" only because companies refuse to pay decent wages especially in high cost of living areas. The average retail worker in New Hampshire for example
requires 50% or more per month of their pay to pay the average rent and grocery costs can easily consume 25-30 % or weekly gross pay.
The "median" income is actually 2-3 times the pay of most non-management retail and hospitality workers. A one hour appointment at an auto repair center can easily cost that employee 20-25% of their entire 40 hour week paycheck. An average one hour visit
from a tradesperson such as an electrician/plumber etc can easily consume 30-40% of gross wages for that worker who worked 40 hours.
Those same workers often have high deductible health insurance where just to meet the deductible before any insurance kicks in results in bankruptcy or severe credit jeopardy
