Duke Fans Toss Drinks As UNC Players Celebrate Rivalry Win in Durham

No. 7 North Carolina defeated No. 9 Duke on the road Saturday night to
clinch sole possession of the ACC regular-season title in the latest
iteration of the storied Tobacco Road rivalry, but things turned ugly
after the final buzzer sounded.

After winning 84–79, Tar Heels players celebrated in front of their
archrival’s student section and discovered firsthand why they’re called
the Cameron Crazies. While UNC players boasted in the direction of the
student section, some fans responded by throwing drinks at UNC players,
and security can be seen trying to identify the perpetrators.

In the same video, Duke coach Jon Scheyer can be heard apologizing to Blue Devils fans for coming up short on Senior Night.
