• Ferris State football coach suspended one tournament game for smoking

Actually, according to reports, he wasn't the one who was smoking. Apparently, two of his players started smoking cigars in the locker room after Ferris State won the Division II championship last year, despite the fact that the instructions given to
both teams made it quite clear that tobacco and alcohol usage in postgame celebrations held in the stadium would be considered misconduct.

The head coach took the blame, and has been suspended for the next tournament game (not the first game of the regular season) in which the team he is coaching is playing.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

The school was also fined $18,000 -- including cleaning costs.
