• Who's going to win the Women's World Cup?

From Mark@21:1/5 to All on Sat Feb 25 01:38:24 2023
Now the qualifiers have finished, and we know who's playing who in the 1st round, who do you think will win the Women's World Cup?

This was my shortlist when I was making my pre-season predictions:

    Brazil
    Canada
    USA
    France
    Germany
    Netherlands
    Sweden

Sweden ended 3rd at the last World Cup, were semi-finalists at the European Championship, and were probably the best team at the Olympics, only losing in the final on penalties. How do you rate their chances?

Netherlands are another interesting one: European Champions in 2017, World Cup runners-up in 2019, and were possibly the best team other than Sweden at the olympics. 23 goals in 4 matches wasn't it? I think they also conceded 10 though. How do you rate
    their chances?

Now that Deschamps has steered the men's team into calmer waters following the Domenech years
I see that France have implemented the tradition of self-implosion elsewehere.

    Ciao,

Ingerlund, the European Champions? Spain also could be a dark horse. But no, it's the Yanks and 31 pretenders

If we are talking about the Womens Cricket World Cup, the final is on now and it will be either Australia or S Africa, so we will find out in 3 days or whoever long it takes to play a cricket match. If it is the Womens football WC, then it will be USA,
though the English womens game has grown a lot in the last couple of years
