  • Brazil and Argentina are the top 2 in the FIFA rankings

    In that order! Argentina are only no. 2!

    Argentina won 3-0 in the semi-final against the team that knocked Brazil out of the World Cup, and Argentina beat Brazil away from home in the final of the Copa America. I'd have thought that was enough to show that Argentina are a better team?

    Brazil are certainly good, but I doubt if they're the best in the World. If there is a team that's better than Argentina at the moment, wouldn't it be France?

    The World Cup shows Argentina are the better team, nobody really
    worries about the FIFA Rankings... they are just a gimmick.

    Between late 2018 and early 2022 Belgium were the number one ranked
    team in the FIFA rankings... despite never winning a World Cup,
    European Championship ... or even a Nations League. So no trophies but
    in the land of the blind, they were the number one ranked national
    football team.

    Nobody takes the FIFA rankings seriously.
