From Real_Mardin@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jun 24 21:46:24 2024
    Group C:

    Denmark - Serbia

    England - Slovenia

    Group C Standings:

    1st England 4pts +1 GD

    2nd Denmark 2pts 0 GD

    3rd Slovenia 2pts 0 GD

    4th Serbia 1pt -1 GD

England are guaranteed at least a highest ranked third place spot but
are presumably playing to win the group and land a second round match
with a third placed side and a space in the bracket which avoids
Germany, Portugal and Spain. Only a win guarantees this.

Denmark can win the group if they beat Serbia and England draw with
Slovenia but they would have to overcome England's goal difference (so
they need a two goal win). A draw and they'll either finish second or be
in the contention for a highest ranked third place spot depending on
    what Slovenia do.

Slovenia can win the group if they beat England and Denmark drop points
or Denmark win but Slovenia beat their goal difference.

Serbia can finish second or third if they beat Denmark depending on what Slovenia do against England.

Everything very much to play for.

    Group D:

    France - Poland

    Netherlands - Austria

    Group D standings:

    1st Netherlands 4pts + 1 GD

    2nd France 4pts +1 GD

    3rd Austria 3pts + 1 GD

    4th Poland 0 pts - 3 GD

To win the group Netherlands and France are each trying to win their
respective matches by more goals than the other. Their points and GD are
the same, Netherlands are only ranked ahead of France by virtue of
having scored one more goal. Finishing top of this group means playing
the runner up of Group F (Turkey, Czechia or Georgia) in the next round
and landing in the perceived easier side of the bracket. The runner up
gets to play the runner up of Group E (Romania, Belgium, Slovakia,
Ukraine) but would find themselves in the bracket involving Germany,
    Portugal and Spain.

Austria can win the group if they beat Netherlands and France don't beat Poland. A draw would see them progress as a highest ranked third place
side. Even in defeat they'd still be in contention to go through as a
third place side given Hungary have a -3 goal difference and there are
teams in C and F who could conceivably finish third with 2 or 1 points.

Poland are eliminated and only have pride to play for.

This would be fun for two reasons:

    1) The inevitable completely over the top reaction from the English

with Denmark, a team who were semi finalists at the last Euros. We can
only imagine what the media could come out with should England lose to

    2) It could set up a Germany - England match in the second round.

Lots of goals and turnarounds, even if the teams are only jockeying for positions within the group. With about five minutes left, it's

    Austria 6
    France 5
    Netherlands 4

As it stands, France would end up in the Germany/Spain/Portugal side of

Denmark play Germany in the second round, England and Slovenia will wait

Assuming no crazy margins of victory in Group E:

If one of Czechia or Turkey win , the qualifiers will be CDEF, and the
    R16 matches will be:
    Spain - 3F (Turkey?)
    England - 3E (Slovakia?)
    1E - Netherlands
    Portugal - Slovenia

Otherwise, the qualifiers are ACDE, and it would be:

    England - Netherlands
    1E - Slovenia
    Portugal - Hungary

Denmark and Slovenia had identical points, goal difference, head to head

Because of an extra yellow given out to Slovenia’s
technical director Milivoje Novakovič in their first
match that most stat sites didn’t register.

Wouldn’t have made a difference though, as with an
even number of bookings Denmark still would have

qualification group (on even points, but won the
