Starting this thread early as I'm on my way to Gelsenkirchen to watch Italy-Spain. Hopefully the experience will not be as bad as that of the
    English fans for ENG-SRB.

will also catch the enticing SVK-UKR the following day.

Well done, I applied for tickets to Italy - Spain in the lottery but
didn’t get them. Hope you have a good time.

    Slovenia in all white.

26 minutes, the vast majority of the attacking pressure has come from
Slovenia, who seem to have more fans present at this former Yugoslavia
derby. Yet the score is still 0-0.

68 minutes, Karnicnik starts the move from within his own half on the
right, ball played to left winger, winger crosses to the far post - for Karnicnik to finish and put Slovenia 1-0 up!

Serbia had shown more attacking threat this first half but so far it's
the Slovenian fans who are jubilant!

Nice progression of matches today, the little match, followed by the mid
tier match ending with the biggie between Spain and Italy. Of course the
super classico tonight in the COPA as well.

England seemed to slow down in the second half. But then a draw
practically guarantees a spot in the next round, so you can sort of see
why they might have wanted to play it safe. When England did attack,
Denmark were effective in shutting them out.

Denmark now need a win against Serbia to be sure of going through.

There is an age old saying in English football, as old as football
    itself and it goes:
You will never win a match with Kyle Walker in your lineup.

The el Calssico coming up, I would say the biggest match of the group
stage. Based on the first round of matches, you would pick Spain to
win, but a draw seems a likely result.

Be aware that the "Stadtbahn" (a tram in my book) going to the stadium
is horribly undersized. Inside, be careful where you step on the
    stands;
the floor goes up in 45 degrees slope under the seats, and being grey
    on
    grey, it's hard to see.

True about the tram. Stadium is OK, even though we had to walk all the
way around until we found our gate.

Subbuteo, of course. with a 1980s Juve shirt and the likeness of Michel Platini. I couldn't resist.

I would say maybe 55% majority Italian shirts in the stands.

Weaufx God's will punish this, but I feel this could be the first 0-0 of

Pundits seem to think Spain are on top due to the amount of shots
they've had, but I think Italy look largely comfortable.

Spain seem to commit a lot of players to attack (eight players in the
Italian half), it seems to me one good counter attack could actually win
    this for Italy.

Spain in their traditional red with yellow trim and navy shorts, Italy
in a very stylish white away kit with red trim on one sleeve and green
    on the other.

Spain did force a couple of decent saves from Donnarumma, but ultimately
it was only Calafiori's calamitous own goal which was the difference
    between the two sides.

Spain qualify for the second round, Italy will look for at least a point

Good atmosphere and fun to be at the game, but it was quite a beating,
Spain dominating from beginning to end, and only some good Donnarumma
saves and poor finishing prevented this from being a 4-0 drubbing.

Wary of the horror stories about the team from the stadium to the train station, we walked about half the way, then still got on a super crowded
tram, finally back at our Dusseldorf hotel around 1:30am

So they weren't able to score a goal themselves and needed a helping
hand from an opponent to win. Typical Spain.
Then again, italian defenders aren't any more what they used to be.
