Ciao,
Werner
I haven't actually tried replying to a post using xananews yet, so here
we go.
Mm, it doesn't seem to be quoting anything; and if it is I can't see
what I'm quoting so I can't delete part of anything I'm quoting.

To reply to a post:
Select the post. (In the top pane)
Click "Post Reply" button on toolbar.
A message window then opens showing the post you are replying to.
[At the very top it will say, reply to article from _____ - Re
______]
Edit the quoted text to show the relevant bits you are replying to,
or just type your reply underneath the quoted post(s) without
trimming.
Click OK. (Then send/send outbasket)
- OR -
In the message that your are reading and want to reply to... use
your cursor to highlight a sentence (or two) that you want to reply
to. Click the "Post Reply" button. The new message window will then
open containing just the text that you selected as the quoted bit.
Do not use the "MAIL REPLY button, UNLESS you want to e-mail
somebody directly, which on Usenet is usually frowned upon... and
might not reach them anyway.
It'll either be "Post New" = For a message you are starting.
or "Post Reply" = For a message you are replying to.

Trimming please, and specially avoid posts consisting of lots of
lines of single, double, etc, quoted text with a one line reply at
the bottom. (There's a few of those in this group.)

Thanks. Yeah the 1st method was what I did. I don't know what went
wrong the first time I tried it.
