• 2023 Copa Sudamericana Final (R)

From Mark@21:1/5 to All on Fri Nov 3 01:07:58 2023
Actually do I need to bother with the (R) as it was played about 6 days ago?

Why has this completely flown under the radar here on rss and on all the football news web-sites!? I didn't even know the result until today; I had to find it on Wikipedia!

Liga de Quito have equalled the record for the most times anybody's won it. Liga de Quito, Boca Juniors and Independiente have all won it 2 times each.

That's because we're too busy here trying to get Google Groups banned and
buy counterfeit money at the same time! :-)

I did know the result actually, thanks to the BBC of course... it went to penalties. I didn't see any of the goals or penalties though.

The BBC are also streaming the Copa Libertadores final live on iPlayer
and the BBC Sports website tomorrow evening for anybody interested...

The BBC have finally realized that football is played outside England other than just once every 2 years at the European Championship and the World Cup?!!

I tried iplayer, and all they were showing was an English Cup match between a non-league club and a 3rd tier club! Perhaps they were lying about showing decent football for change!

The BBC have fairly good coverage of football outside of England, mainly because they don't have the rights to many live matches in England! I
find their 'BBC Sports' website a good source of information.

Sky Sports on the other hand...

The match was live on BBC3 and the BBC iPlayer... it probably depends on
what country you were trying to access it from though. Outside of the UK
you probably needed a VPN to watch their coverage. But they did show it.
