It was reviewed at length in "Billboard" dated January 7 1967 so it really has to be a December 1966 release yes?

Okay > Do you have anything definitive that says 1967?
I have "La-La--Means I Love You" first released On Philly Groove NS-1001 in December 1967. This was on a green Philly Groove label which tho I don't have I have seen. I'm not sure but I think it may have been just a local Philly area release.
When Amy-Mala-Bell took over the record (and the label) for national distribution the record came out again on the regular Philly Groove 150 release that became the huge hit we all remember. That release was indeed in January 1968.

Boy,Roger LOVES James Carr. Nearly everything he did made his lists. SUPERB list all around. Does he realize Lover`s Competition is different on the 45 than what the U.K.CD released. The U.K.version took the group out of the 45.Thanks Frankie
I don't hear a group on my mp3 of the James Carr. That single never came out here and I never had the Goldwax 45.
