    MISSY ELLIOTT
The third female solo act in this year's class is a good sign for counteracting years of neglect in this area and it's especially heartening to see because Elliott is by far the most star-studded inductee of this year's class regardless of gender. With
loads of enduring classics released during her three decade reign where she cemented her reputation as the definitive female MC of all-time and one of the most acclaimed songwriters of her generation, she would be the clear headliner in any year but

even as hip hop has become the dominant form of rock 'n' roll over the past four decades

the acceptance of it AS a subgenre of rock by many in the public has been met with fierce opposition which meant that her induction was far from a sure thing in spite of her towering achievements.

Here's the intro. For once, (GASP!) I agree with him.

No matter the year, no matter the inductees, there's going to be pockets
of fans who are still somehow interested in The Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of
Fame complaining about the process, the candidates and ultimately the selections themselves.

Though those perspectives are bound to be in conflict with one another
because people's inherent stylistic biases mean there's no consistency
in those complaints, the mere "right" to complain is now as much a part
of the annual announcement as the election itself.

Cognizant of this The Hall which at one point tried - and failed - to accurately define their own parameters, have essentially turned this
into a wild free for all, one where logical arguments for or against
selections are all but meaningless. Perhaps that was the final step of
their plan when it came to finally figuring out how to put an end to the well-thought out, targeted criticisms of their regime's collective decision.

When you reduce everything to chaos and disorder then no intellectual
debate will be taken seriously... a trend that is far too common in this
day and age most everywhere you look.

In a nutshell, the Rock And Roll HOF is now simply about popular music
that sells well in the US of A.

(I've read that some Brits complain about a lack of Electronic artists
in HOF - apparently this sub-genre is not as big a seller in the US)

In 2007, for the first time, a Rap artist, Grandmaster Flash, was
    inducted.

Apparently this was an undemocratic HOF executive decision:

"Sources tell Fox News' Roger Friedman that the DAVE CLARK FIVE had
six more votes than GRANDMASTER FLASH in the final voting of the ROCK
AND ROLL HALL OF FAME Foundation nominating committee {600 voters} and
should have been inducted into the Hall on Monday night. Sources say
that GRANDMASTER FLASH were fifth when the votes were counted on the
first date ballots were due; when all the votes were counted a few
days later, DAVE CLARK FIVE were ahead, but foundation Chairman and
Rolling Stone publisher JANN WENNER decided to go with the earlier
    tally."

Fox News, a/k/a Conspiracy Theory Central. Is there a more trustworthy
source for this nasty little story?

I mean, it could be true...but I wouldn't take Fox News's word for it,
or for anything else, as the recent Dominion court case has shown how
they deliberately lie on the air to increase their ratings.

And their viewers just love scary stories about black people "replacing"
white people, the replacement being engineered by The Jews. I didn't
know until this moment that Jann Wenner was Jewish, but I just looked it
up, and OF COURSE HE IS.

Did Fox News have their current appalling reputation back in 2007 -
seems not, going by the general acceptance of this DC5 scandal,
and it has nothing to do with politics.

And their viewers just love scary stories about black people "replacing" >white people, the replacement being engineered by The Jews. I didn't

Further, Jann Wenner is a homosexual.

In a newsgroup thread from 16 years ago, here is much more detail
about the 2007 DC5 HOF affair. Wenner comes across as an *autocrat*.
You might like to read beyond the initial post, in which there are
disturbing revelations about how the HOF works... https://alt.music.van-halen.narkive.com/v7xs37U8/jann-wenner-s-rock-nroll-hall-of-shame

A quote from the prestigious UK newspaper The Guardian on Feb 29,
    2008:

"On Thursday, two weeks before the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the
world's most idiotic cultural institution, were due to add the Dave
Clark Five to its tarted-up pantheon, lead singer Mike Smith died.
According to some reports, the DC5, who should have been voted into
the Hall 20 years ago, got screwed out of their induction last year
because of dodgy ballot tallying at the shabby institution that is
more about tourism and commerce than about the art form it purports to
    serve."
