The Flamingos is too gimmicky for me to love it. No surprise though that your younger ears hear it as much better, a 10 as opposed to a 6. No doubt that most people who like a lot of different sounds pretty equally would agree with that. But for a lot of
hard core 1950s R&B fans like myself, the music fell off a cliff in 1959 with all of the added production, violins, choruses that everybody started using after "There Goes My Baby," which is another one that is only a 7 for me. I prefer the flip side, "
Oh My Love."
