Agreed. And if you like this one, you should pick up Gardiner's "Magnificat", which is coupled with Cantata 51. (I also have Cantatas 36, 61, and 62, but they haven't yet grabbed me much.) Don't forget
Gardiner's "Mass in B Minor," either; one of the greatest recordings ever!
Can anyone suggest "essential" cantatas?
