• Invitation

From Ed P@21:1/5 to All on Sat Apr 6 19:09:38 2024
You are invited. All the talk of the eclipse on Monday got me to look
when the next on will happen. Well, it is in August of 2045, just a bit
before my 100th Birthday. To make it perfect, the path of totality is
over much of Florida and my house is near center. It will be perfect for
    a party

    https://nationaleclipse.com/maps/map_08122045.html

The party planning has started. Everyone will have a name tag since we
may not recognize or remember each other at that point. Especially in
the dark of an eclipse, but we may be living in the dark anyway.

Foods served will be easily digestible and have vitamin supplements of
your choice on the side. Glucerna and vodka punch of course.

There will be party favors of course. Six-pack of Ensure, a box of
    Depends and other useful items.

We can play games, however, Hide and Seek will not be allowed as that
would probably require police dogs to do the seeking.

    Suggestions welcome.

You, or your caretaker, should RSVP by July of 2045.

I'll be there. I'll bring my own oxygen tank and urine bag. I'm hoping to
bring queen quown, but she'll need lots of attendants, so it may not happen.

If I can still throw my leg over a bike it's not likely I'll be

That's amazing! Sounds like your fruit garden is a symphony of blooms. My
envy is real – especially for those close-to-ripening strawberries!
Thinning the fruit sounds like the wise choice, but hey, who wouldn't be tempted by a harvest that big? Maybe some creative pie crust reinforcements are in order?

That includes Velcro closures on tennis shoes. No fumbling with buttons

Frustrated Passenger Pees In Cup, Dumps It On Flight Attendant After Not Being Allowed To Disembark After Landing

by Gary Leff on April 7, 2024

    https://viewfromthewing.com/frustrated-passenger-pees-in-cup-dumps-it-on-flight-attendant-after-not-being-allowed-to-disembark-after-landing/

"On an Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Sydney, a passenger became frustrated during a delay getting off the aircraft on arrival. He urinated in a cup – and spilled it on a flight attendant.

The man, who was sitting next to a mother and her 15-year-old daughter, exposed himself and let loose at least three times. Holly, the mother, reported feeling “humiliated” by the experience, stating that it made her daughter lose confidence in
flying alone, ruining her school holiday plans. She said,

"So yeah he pulled his naked penis out next to us at least three times. That just makes my skin crawl.

…And because I guess we had moved he then got up after us and was carrying another full cup. I guess his intention was to pour it out in the toilet. Then as he was walking, he was obviously quite drunk by this point, he spilled a good amount of his
urine onto the flight attendant at the end of the plane as well, because he tripped..."

The woman complained to the airline and received back a generic acknowledgment and – after attention focused on this incident – a gift basket..."

    LOLZ...!!!

These are interesting times. I was just looking at our regional health
unit's statistics on Covid infections. Just a few years ago stats like
that would have been broken down by gender, simply male or female. Now
    there are 6 categories; Women/girl, Man/boy, Non-binary, Transgender,
two spirited and unknown. Of course I had to look at the stats and
filtered for the non-binary, transgender and two spirited, and there
were no cases reported among them. I find it hard to belief that there
were no Covid cases among those groups, so I am guessing that it
suddenly wasn't very important for them to identify in this case, and I
found that odd since they seem to find it so important to identify in so
    many other situations.

Some of us might. I probably won't be one of them, but I have had some
long livers in my family. My maternal grandmother died at 95 but her
father lived to be about 105. My mother's sister died at 98. My paternal grandmother died a few weeks before her 100th birthday and my father's
oldest brother died about 6 months before 100. So I do have some long
life genes. My paternal grandfather died at 56 (cancer) and an uncle
died of a heart attack at 49, and an aunt at 46.
Thanks for the invite but I will wait to RSVP formally.

2400 grit abrasive and then a thin coat of varnish. Now I would
probably use successively finer grits up to 12,000 and not bother
    with a finish.
On pens I finish with several coats of medium super-glue then sand
up to 12,000 grit for a mirror finish.

Frustrated Passenger Pees In Cup, Dumps It On Flight Attendant After Not Being Allowed To Disembark After Landing
    ...
    LOLZ...!!!

Well, I do understand the guy. Modern flights are an exercise in
humiliation that can make the most peaceful person explode. But I'm
surprised his choosen action was throwing pee on people.

The only other incident I can remember involving throwing pee was Yngwie Malmsteen on a trip to Tokyo. He got angry with a fellow female
passenger who insulted him because he had throw around tampons with
tomato sauce and one landed in the passengers food. As a respone Yngwie Malmsteen threw a cup of pee in her face.

Personally, I never experienced any of that. The closest I think was
once on a flight to spain where we first had to sit for 2.5 hours on the runway. Then the crew had to land in copenhagen due to union rules
(remember, this is socialist EU) and by that time many had not eaten
anything for 10 hours or so, temper was high. But people at least looked forward to leaving the plane to stretch their legs and buy something at
    the airport.

Then the captain announced that no one was allowed to leave the plane,
and that we'd continue to norway in about 1-2 hours, and then a small
    riot broke loose.

About 10 people were running to the front threatening and screaming at
the captain, crew and each other, and it was quickly decided that people
should be allowed to leave the plane if they promised not to leave the
    gate area.

So once they opened, I quickly left with the wife and persuaded the
airline to let me on a Stockholm flight instead of the roundabout Oslo->Stockholm which was originally planned.

I think walking is the only sane way left to travel in todays world. I

Haha, sounds like things are getting a little too healthy! Maybe we
can sneak in some chocolate chips for those cookies?

The classic is using chopped-up Ex-lax as the chips.

I'll be dressed in this: https://postimg.cc/5YRDSs96

Probably others here as well. A shelf will be set up for them.

Perhaps not. I just saw this morning that the oldest man dies this
week at 114. We can make it!

Some of us might. I probably won't be one of them, but I have had some long livers in my family. My maternal grandmother died at 95 but her
father lived to be about 105. My mother's sister died at 98. My paternal grandmother died a few weeks before her 100th birthday and my father's oldest brother died about 6 months before 100. So I do have some long life genes. My paternal grandfather died at 56 (cancer) and an uncle
died of a heart attack at 49, and an aunt at 46.
Thanks for the invite but I will wait to RSVP formally.

My sister is 81. So far, that is the longest in three generations.

I'm holding off on seating arrangements so far

Some of the late guests will probably be lying down. To
avoid any decomposition whiffs I suggest you host the
party outdoors in your garden. Graham should keep his
lid tied on so he can't blow away.

Well, I do understand the guy. Modern flights are an exercise in
humiliation that can make the most peaceful person explode. But I'm
surprised his choosen action was throwing pee on people.

Air travel can be annoying enough on its own but obnoxious passengers
can make things much less tolerable. I have been lucky on my last few
flights but they were on smaller jets like a 737Max and an Airbase 231.
Wide bodies carry about twice as many people and that cane mean as much
as four times the number of intolerable assholes to deal with.

I think it was 8 years ago when I flew from Buffalo to John Wayne. That
one was not so pleasant. It started off with a major delay leaving
Buffalo. We were supposed to fly to Newark and on to John Wayne but
the plane was delayed so they had to rebook us before we even got on the
plane. Now we were going to Newark and then to Chicago and then to John
Wayne. The plane finally arrived and he got to Newark in time to make
our connection but then got stuck on the tarmac while we waited for a
gate to get off. We waited out there for so long we missed our
connection and had to rebook again. There was a direct flight.... in 7
hours. We had way to much time to kill. We got on the plane, taxied
out and got stuck in a line waiting to take off. We came close to being cancelled because John Wayne has a curfew that we may not make.
Apparently they jumped us ahead and we left. Instead of arriving in
California at 2 pm and going out for a dinner with my family and friends
we arrived in time to go to bed.

Returning was better. We flew from San Francisco to Chicago and a
connection to Buffalo. We were a little late getting to O'Hare and
didn't have much time to make out connection. They made an announcement
about a number of us needing to deplane quickly to make connections so
all other passengers were to remain in their seats until we got off.
There were only a few of us who were making that short connection but
wouldn't you know that at least one person in every row got up to get
into the overhead bins or just stood there to stretch their legs.
Finally I yelled at them to sit down because he had to get off NOW. Surprisingly, they listened to me. We made it.

One of these days I will figure out how it is possible that when take
your turn getting onto a plane and you get to your seat and there is no
one in the nearby seats the overhead bins are already full. What is with
people that they would stash their stuff in a place that is obviously
intended for the people sitting closest to it?

Hahahaha. About 60 years ago, my uncle worked as a mechanic at a car
dealer. He brought his lunch every day. Someone (unknown) kept regularly stealing it, and he'd have to go to a cafe to eat. So, he brought a lunch
with the contents laced with plenty of ex-lax. Then it was pretty obvious
who had eaten it. Another mechanic there.
