Recently, Passap America learned that the final Passap knitting
machines have been manufactured. This means that the current supply
of new machines are the last Passap knitting machines to be produced
at the facility in Dietikon Switzerland.

What This Means to the Passap Knitting Machine Owner

If you own a Passap knitting machine, your dealer has our "Peace of
Mind Parts List" for each of Passap's products. These parts are what
we recommend you have in your possession for the Peace of Mind your
Passap knitting machine will continue to knit for at least another 5
years. In other words, to be sure you will not be disappointed if
something on your Passap machine breaks, you should take care to have
the parts you need to keep knitting. Currently, there is a complete
supply of EVERYTHING Passap. As the new product inventory depletes
over the next year, some parts may be in short supply. Note that we
said "MAY". We believe the best course of action is to prepare to
keep your machine operational and not to rely that someone will have
a needed part should yours break. Just as you would have groceries if
a major snowstorm hits, the Peace of Mind parts list is to keep you
knitting for at least the next 5 years.

Passap America will continue to serve you until we no longer can
supply your machine, accessory and part needs.

So, you can still call your Passap dealer for needles, strippers and
whatever else you need for your Passap Knitting machine. Our
expectation is that the parts supply will last not less than 2 or 3
years. By getting what you need, NOW. you won't have to worry about
whether that peiod of time is 2 years or 4 years!

Passap America will continue to have monthly parts deliveries until
June 2000. After that, we will get semi-monthly parts deliveries.

Passap America will continue to have new Passap knitting machines and accessories for about 1 year. We have stock of all products now, and
will receive additional machines during December 1999. As we need to replenish the supply of new merchandise, we will have our orders
filled by the factory until their supply of new machines and
accessories is depleted.

So, you need not worry about support for your Passap knitting
machine. You do need to get your parts purchased so you can knit with
Peace of Mind. Why is this happening? Well, once we knew that there
would be a last Passap knitting machine, we felt the ethhical thing
to do was to let you know what we know, so you could act in your
interest and with as much knowledge as Passap America has. We did not
make the decision to end production. We are just as upset as you are
that things have evolved to this. But, there is power in knowledge,
and we are confident you will be able to use your knowledge to your
best interest!

You, the Passap knitting family, has made it a wonderful experience
to be your importer. We thank you for your support and look forward
to making sure each of you has what you need to keep knitting on your
Passap knitting machine.

I had never seen this post before this morning, and I was not aware that there was a Passap North America at all. I have been aware of the one in Canada, but if there is a different one still in business, please post a link.
