    BTW that residential school business was a Canadian thing. We didn't
    do that. Jackson moved the Eastern indians to Oklahoma and Grant
    killed most of the rest that lived out West. The North Carolina
    Cherokee survived because they were smart enough to buy their land.
    They still have it but a North Carolina Cherokee isn't much on an
    Indian. The ones we met are just North Carolina mountain folks. The
    guys talk like NASCAR drivers and the girls sound like Dolly Parton.

    ===

    The residential school business was also an Alaskan thing. We got several lectures from elder native Americans about the abuses they endured in so called missionary schools.

    We already gave our penitence by declaring the reservations to be
    above the law. Indians came out of the woodwork, resurrecting extinct
    tribes with dubious ancestral heritage so they could open casinos and
    tax free stores. In Florida they don't pay taxes and get free tags.
    The last time I heard the Miccosukee were getting an $8000 a month
    stipend each from the tribe, just from the casinos.

    NOPE. WE KNOW THAT NEWS IS SLOW TO MIGRATE TO THE MARATIME
    ISLANDERS. JOHN IS MERELY CLUEING YOU IN ON WHAT YOU SHOULD STOP
    DOING, IF YOU ARE DOING IT, DONNIE.

    The pope has arrived in Canaduh for a long overdue visit to the godless region. Maybe this time he can
    bring donnie and the rest of the sinning canucks around and get them to walk the right side of the road, eh?
    Those Canadian Indians traded hand made trinkets to the missionaries
    for some hard goods (or maybe just salvation), now they want them
    back.
    Hence the name "Indian Giver".

    They are looking for cold hard cash for the church's part in residential school abuses.
    Mark my words, all y'all will be next.

    ===

    The residential school business was also an Alaskan thing. We got several lectures from elder native Americans about the abuses they endured in so called missionary schools.

    Where was that? Seward?
