    Let's hope it doesn't have any nukes aboard or access to the Black Sea may not be worth fighting for.

    Nuclear warheads are fairly well contained and the water will not
    cause them to go off or leak. It does present a terrorist threat tho.
    We would certainly hope they were recovered by someone who would not
    threaten the world with them.
    The reality is it is unlikely they had nuclear weapons on that kind of
    ship but who knows. You couldn't trust the Russians to tell us.

    I think they were harassing those columns with some kind of standoff
    weapons if it was just mortars.
    They are pretty smart to stay on defense tho. In the open field the
    Russians have a better chance of killing them. That is how that same
    gang of Ukrainians bogged down the Germans until the Russians could
    turn them around at Kursk.
    It does sound like we are sending them some heavy artillery. I am
    just not sure how long it will survive if Russia owns the sky.

    Maybe the CAF will go establish the no fly zone ;-)

    aid.

    https://www.canada.ca/en/global-affairs/news/2022/02/canada-sending-additional-25m-military-aid-to-support-ukraine.html

    *****************************
    The new $800 million assistance package includes:

    800 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
    2,000 Javelin, 1,000 light anti-armor weapons, and 6,000 AT-4
    anti-armor systems;
    100 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems;
    100 grenade launchers, 5,000 rifles, 1,000 pistols, 400 machine
    guns, and 400 shotguns;
    Over 20 million rounds of small arms ammunition and grenade
    launcher and mortar rounds;
    25,000 sets of body armor; and
    25,000 helmets.

    In addition to the weapons listed above, previous United States
    assistance committed to Ukraine includes:

    Over 600 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
    Approximately 2,600 Javelin anti-armor systems;
    Five Mi-17 helicopters;
    Three patrol boats;
    Four counter-artillery and counter-unmanned aerial system tracking
    radars;
    Four counter-mortar radar systems;
    200 grenade launchers and ammunition;
    200 shotguns and 200 machine guns;
    Nearly 40 million rounds of small arms ammunition and over 1
    million grenade, mortar, and artillery rounds;
    70 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and other
    vehicles;
    Secure communications, electronic warfare detection systems, body
    armor, helmets, and other tactical gear;
    Military medical equipment to support treatment and combat
    evacuation;
    Explosive ordnance disposal and demining equipment; and
    Satellite imagery and analysis capability.

    In addition to the U.S.-produced short-range air defense systems the
    Ukrainians have been using to great effect, the United States has also identified and is helping the Ukrainians acquire additional,
    longer-range systems on which Ukraine’s forces are already trained, as
    well as additional munitions for those systems. *********************************** https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/03/16/fact-sheet-on-u-s-security-assistance-for-ukraine/

    Ukraine wants things that go bang, the bigger the bang the better like

    them when Russia owns the air. We gave them something to shoot down
    aircraft.

    anti-armor systems;
    100 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems;
    100 grenade launchers, 5,000 rifles, 1,000 pistols, 400 machine
    guns, and 400 shotguns;
    Over 20 million rounds of small arms ammunition and grenade
    launcher and mortar rounds;
    25,000 sets of body armor; and
    25,000 helmets.

    In addition to the weapons listed above, previous United States
    assistance committed to Ukraine includes:

    Over 600 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
    Approximately 2,600 Javelin anti-armor systems;
    Five Mi-17 helicopters;
    Three patrol boats;
    Four counter-artillery and counter-unmanned aerial system tracking
    radars;
    Four counter-mortar radar systems;
    200 grenade launchers and ammunition;
    200 shotguns and 200 machine guns;
    Nearly 40 million rounds of small arms ammunition and over 1
    million grenade, mortar, and artillery rounds;
    70 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and other
    vehicles;
    Secure communications, electronic warfare detection systems, body
    armor, helmets, and other tactical gear;
    Military medical equipment to support treatment and combat
    evacuation;
    Explosive ordnance disposal and demining equipment; and
    Satellite imagery and analysis capability.

    In addition to the U.S.-produced short-range air defense systems the Ukrainians have been using to great effect, the United States has also identified and is helping the Ukrainians acquire additional,
    longer-range systems on which Ukraine’s forces are already trained, as well as additional munitions for those systems. *********************************** https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2022/03/16/fact-sheet-on-u-s-security-assistance-for-ukraine/

    So Canada is sending them some stuff to hide behind and we are sending
    them things that go bang.

    Ukraine wants things that go bang, the bigger the bang the better like
    a 155 howitzer. The only question I have had is how long can they keep
    them when Russia owns the air. We gave them something to shoot down aircraft.

    Kanada is just an obstacle keeping America from having 49 contiguous states.
    We should hire Putin to annex Kanada to us. That would eliminate all the
    silly northern border issues between us and our little sister to the north.

    The new $800 million assistance package includes:

    800 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
    2,000 Javelin, 1,000 light anti-armor weapons, and 6,000 AT-4
    anti-armor systems;
    100 Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems;
    100 grenade launchers, 5,000 rifles, 1,000 pistols, 400 machine
    guns, and 400 shotguns;
    Over 20 million rounds of small arms ammunition and grenade
    launcher and mortar rounds;
    25,000 sets of body armor; and
    25,000 helmets.

    In addition to the weapons listed above, previous United States
    assistance committed to Ukraine includes:

    Over 600 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
    Approximately 2,600 Javelin anti-armor systems;
    Five Mi-17 helicopters;
    Three patrol boats;
    Four counter-artillery and counter-unmanned aerial system tracking
    radars;
    Four counter-mortar radar systems;
    200 grenade launchers and ammunition;
    200 shotguns and 200 machine guns;
    Nearly 40 million rounds of small arms ammunition and over 1
    million grenade, mortar, and artillery rounds;
    70 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs) and other

    armor, helmets, and other tactical gear;
    Military medical equipment to support treatment and combat
    evacuation;
    Explosive ordnance disposal and demining equipment; and
    Satellite imagery and analysis capability.

    In addition to the U.S.-produced short-range air defense systems the
    Ukrainians have been using to great effect, the United States has also
    identified and is helping the Ukrainians acquire additional,
    longer-range systems on which Ukraine’s forces are already trained, as >> well as additional munitions for those systems.

    them things that go bang.

    Ukraine wants things that go bang, the bigger the bang the better like
    a 155 howitzer. The only question I have had is how long can they keep
    them when Russia owns the air. We gave them something to shoot down
    aircraft.

    If you have newer facts post them. That was what I got on a search.

    I hope you're watching CNN today. They just interviewed a former Special Operations Commander in the US Marines. He's now in KYIV trying to assist the Ukrainian military. He says the US effort is a shit show over there with all your donations sitting
    in Lviv, not getting to the front lines where needed. Other reports say USvgas no way to track where those weapons go...hopefully not into Russian hands or onto the Black Market.

    Interesting that CNN is throwing Biden under the bus like that.
    Who is supposed to be running this mess?
    Hunter?
    He seems to have the most pull in Ukraine.

    It was a good diversion by you tho. How many hundred million has
    Canada coughed up?
    The US was getting close to a $Billion and with our black budget it is
    probably over that now.
    We are real good at distributing weapons to war zones, even if we are
    not sure who gets them. Obama sent hundreds of untraceable weapons to
    Mexico in one of our ill fated clusterfucks called Fast and Furious.

    Ukraine is turning out to be a lot tougher nut to crack than anyone
    would have guessed.

    I just wish they were more able to reach out and touch those Russian artillery pieces and missile launching sites, not to mention those long slow moving columns.
    What is Canada sending to help them?

    We don't brag and boast endlessly about our contributions on CNN or Fox network.
    Oh wait....that's what y'all do with your every new gun added to your collection.

    Looks like a lot of bragging land boasting to me!

    Don got pretty quiet after I posted the actual numbers and he never
    backed up his comment that they were actually doing any more.
    Canada is still talking about 10s of millions in non lethal aid (they
    wouldn't want anyone to say they helped Ukraine kill any Russians) and
    we are probably well over a billion by the time you include our black
    budgets.
    We really don't have a clue what our spooks are doing over there but I
    am sure it is plenty and we may not hear about it until they make a
    movie (Argo, Charley Wilson etc)
    The 155s we sent, along with 144k rounds of ammo should make some
    noise until Russian planes take them out.

    Careful...you're contradicting The John himself.
    I was going to point out that article about our 890 million in aid to Ukraine since 2014 but wasn't sure if I should go back that far.
    Since The John butted in and made it his business to show that article I may as well point out that would be equivalent to America donating about $ 9 billion.
    Get back to me when you can support that.

    The Russians are there now. They want weapons now, not blankets and
    shovels years ago.
    For better or worse the US will still fill the air with weapons if
    they promise to kill people we don't like.
