• Covid strikes again

From Mr. Luddite@21:1/5 to All on Fri Feb 18 07:16:27 2022
Found out yesterday that a good friend
    died Wednesday of Covid.

He was in the hospital on a ventilator but couldn't be
    saved.

68 years old. Great musician. I saw him
about 5 weeks ago and he was fine.
    Happened very fast.

    This thing isn't over yet.

It's certainly not over but hopefully we're nearing a return to normalcy. The attitudes of anti-vaxers and Covid deniers continue to baffle me. Darwin will get his share of them.

That's bullshit of course, and I'm sure you know better. Trump's early on Covid denial cast a negative influence over his entire band of true believers. Many of them have paid the ultimate price for their ignorance.

The reality is the vaccine will not prevent you from getting the virus

Masks have always been bullshit and they are finally admitting the
only thing that makes any difference at all is a properly fitted N-95 respirator (used once, handled properly and thrown away) and again
    that is only anecdotal.
That still does not prevent some states and cities from maintaining
    draconian restrictions and mandates.
Of course they only apply to the riff raff in the general population.

It's interesting that Wayne is laser focused on Trump while he
refuses to chastise the democrats for all the nasty crap they
pulled off during his administration, and even now. Maybe he

I know several liberals who hate Trump and refuse to get the vaccine. The refusal to get vaccinated goes far beyond the few Trump supporters that won't get the vaccines.

Besides, it was Fauci that first downplayed COVID. "The American people should not be worried or frightened by this. It’s a very, very low risk to the United States... "

Covid hysteria was a valuable tool in getting Biden elected but now
that it is endangering his holding the house and senate, the
administration is dialing down the hysteria. I see very little change
from this time last year when the vaccine was out in the actual
infections but I do see they have modified the reporting from "with
covid" to "from covid" in the death count and they also put the same
spin on hospital admissions. Now you have to be admitted FOR covid
symptoms to be a covid patient. They even go so far as putting covid
positive patients in general population and letting covid positive
    care workers tend to patients.
Hoax may be too strong a word but it is clear there is some
    politically motivated deception going on.
There will be another variant and another surge this spring. It will
be interesting how the Democrats spin it.

No it isn't. But, that doesn't matter for either the Democrat or
Republican governors, which is pretty sad. The good news is that the
Democrats are willing to impose restrictions "if necessary." They will
    be.

Apparently, even mild cases of Covid can result in heart damage.

Oh go away idiot. Trump did nothing after the vaccines were developed.
He discounted them nearly entirely, and he encouraged people to "think

No it isn't. But, that doesn't matter for either the Democrat or

Apparently, even mild cases of Covid can result in heart damage.

How many mild cases have you survived?
