Got my cotton knickers out from the back of the closet, felt around
for a place to hang them when I get back from the doctor, threw a
thick pair of polyester tights into the wash, intending to hang them
in the back of the closet next washday.
Most things should be given an extra wash before storing them for the
season, to deter moths and other bugs.
My alpaca tights have been lying on the ironing board for weeks --
they are too precious to wear out with frequent washing, but I don't
want to put them into the blanket box as is.
Perhaps I'll put them into a zip-lock bag, add a moth ball, and then
put them into the blanket box. But do moth balls attack plastic?
Perhaps a good long soaking in weak vinegar would drown bugs. Then
one more soak to get the vinegar out. And still use the plastic bag
in case a bug got in with something else.
I did have one day that I could wear alpaca tights this winter. I was
out on the bike on our only six-below day.
If I haven't goofed up the math, that's twenty-one below Celcius.
Must remember to inspect all the darns before putting them away.
