2001 Diasio D962 chassis #16 This is serial number 16 of the hand
crafted Diasio race cars. This early Fabcar chassis has just undergone a complete restoration/rebuilt and is in excellent condition. It will fit
a driver up to 61 unfortunately the extra 3inches of my body did not fit in it so I have to let it go. The engine is a Yamaha 1000 and runs excellent. 6 speed sequential shifter with separate brake and clutch reservoirs. Comes with lots of spares. I mean lots of them. Has a
complete drop in engine, suspension pieces, springs, etc, etc etc. 3
sets of extra wheels (total of 4). The car is fast and furious. Designed
after the famous Porsche 962. It was upgraded during the resto to
feature the later roof air scoop. The Coors Lite livery is original
Coors Brewing company logos. The previous owner got those from Coors.
The car is currently race ready. Bleed the brakes, bleed the clutch and
check oil and you are good to go. Can be registered for SCCA or NASA.

    Car has been sold

    6:54 PM - Jun 20, 2009 #11
    1. will car fit 2 - 220 pound 6 footers in the car, & not bottom out &
be drivable ? Well I weight around 175 lbs and 5.9

the previous owner is over 6 and the car have the tall man kit, and he
had students on the track, so it should not been a problem.

    2. What does the car weigh ? around 1300 lbs

    3. What size & type tires does the car use ? DOT tires ? Racing Slicks ?
    I run on 205/50/15 Avon Tech R

It does have a old set slicks, have 4 set of rims

    4. Is rear suspension a solid axle type or varient ? It used to be
spool, but added the wedge lock on it.

    5. Does the car have optional seat & harness for passinger ? You do not
need the seat for passenger and yes it does have an outdated harenss

Also the drivers side need to update belts unless you just to T.T

    6. Does car have an alternator to recharge the battery ? Will it also
run the car Ign & FI along with headlights, wipers, etc & still charge the battery ? Does it have enough amps output ? It does not have the
headlights but have wiper (Took it off, no need in CA)

Yes it does charge the battery.

    7. Is the car a CHAIN drive car ? Yes

    8. Does the car have a SCCA log book ? Or ? It does have a TCRA log book

    9. How may races on car ? Where raced & how many owners in past ? The
previous owner never raced the car,

I raced it maybe around 5 times only

    10. Is engine dry sumped or Acusumped ? Is not dry sumped

    11. What does a replacement crate engine cost - same type in car now ?
Can a Suzuki DSR motor fit with out to much modification ?

The crate engine we got from Diasio cost me $2500 brand new. Other
owners have put in the Hayabusa in the car

Not an expect so can't tell you how much modification it takes

    Thanks/Edmond

Engines can be re-fitted. I have R-1's with dry sump in my car. You have
to be careful to maintain as close as possible the location of the
    engine output
shaft...as this determines the pivot point for the chain-to-differential geometry...bottom line is these cars have hayabusas, R-1s and Gixxers in
    them. It can
    be done.

Edmonds car is a relatively unmodified car. These cars need development
to make them quicker. Big issue is aero. They need a front splitter as
    the front of the
bodywork is totally open underneath...the engine bay is open, so lots of
drag at the front and rear of the car. A little work and these are
    corrected, and the
car immediately will be a bunch quicker. Edmond's car also has the
limited slip differential versus the original spool. This was done to
    allow easier
turn-in...the locked diff cars tend to want to understeer...

If I understand correctly, Edmond's car still has the YZF engine(s).

These cars are also under-tired. I now have 9" and 14" wide wheels on
mine (front and rear respectively). tires are 9.50's front and 11's on
the rear. They are 15 dia. Car has LOTS of brakes, with big Wilwoods all around. The chassis are well built, beingmade by FABCAR. A little
    over-built, but are
quite stout because of this. A good, strong, chassis, easy to set up suspension, room for immediate aero improvement, and roof over your head.

I know the same can be said of my motorhome, but the Diasio is a bunch
    more fun to drive.

Hope this answers some of your questions.

Tom, yeah do have the YZF R engine on my car. My next step was going to
do the splitter and the rear.

However with new baby and 3 race cars, so the race cars got to go or the
    the baby.

Tom is correct the Diasio is a blast to drive.

    Thanks/Edmond

So, how did the run at Button Willow go?

Do you figure the engine is mostly broken in now?

Was this a race event or just an open track day?

(or, in other words, were times officially recorded?)

    As always, wishing you well.

    We ran with AROSC/TCRA

They both have Open track and race group

I was in the race group.

On Sat practice I only did 2'16

And on the qualify race I did 2'08 without pushing the car too hard.

I know i can shave of a few seconds and maybe with faster driver it will
    be under 2 min

    We #13CW

Yes the engine is fully broken in now, just have a few minor things.

The left front shocks need to be re-seal or swap ($100) and small leak
from rear end which is a easy fix

Beside from that the car ran great.

    Thanks/Edmond

    Helpful statement from MVS elsewhere:

"Here's a link to BW's website, which has all their track maps:

    http://www.buttonwillowraceway.com/ "

What track configuration did you run?

I have 'on line' found some results from that organization,

but have not yet found that weekend's results sheets.

    Can you provide a link?

    Hi Manfred

Nope did not have the chance to fix those problem, would most likely
leave it that way and just lower the price.

Sorry your offer is way too low.

Reminiscent of the great GTP cars of the 80's and early 90's, the Diasio
D962 was designed as a fast, safe, durable, low maintenance, fun track
car that can be used for lapping days, driver's schools as well as
racing in the SCCA, NASA and other organizations around the country.
Its mid-engine placement, low roll center, and awesome power-to-weight
ratio makes the D962 a perfect choice for any track event. The cornering ability of the D962 is second to none!
The 5-speed sequential shifter (like that of the CART professional
racing cars) is an absolute blast. The revs scream up to an incredible
11,500 redline, with a top speed of well over 140 mph. Many comparisons
have been made between the sound of the D962 and that of a Formula One
    race car.
The 150 hp Yamaha engine was chosen for its light weight, durability,
and performance. It boasts 5 valves per cylinder, 185 lb weight & 11,800
    rpm rev limit!
The D962 currently (as of 10/01) laps Putnam Park in 1:12s, in stock
form!; Lime Rock in under 58 seconds; Texas World's 2.9 mile course in 1:50. WSIR 1:36 (with slow driver)
