Many news servers are currently blocking posts from Google Groups due to spamming through that portal. Same thing happened to your earlier
    "Rookie of the Year?" post.

Still don't think he's automatically the GOAT (because most of his wins
were in obviously dominant cars in HIS years)...

    ...but credit where it's due:

He got absolutely everything that could be got out of that Mercedes this
    year.

The fact that he gave Perez such a close run for second WDC in what
was a vastly superior car shows that it is both driver and car that
    matters.

He is not always a great sportsman but he is a great driver at the peak of

A great sportsman he most certainly isn't, but neither were very many

It's like most weeks at the moment.

Alonso and Albon have also had good seasons.

Alonso has been very impressive this year. Back to using his experience
to the best effect. Not bad for an old man. ;-)

I can see quite a few clearly 'good sportsmen' in the F1 drivers right now.

Did you bother reading what I was agreeing with?

"A great sportsman he [Verstappen] most certainly isn't"

    Agreed.

"but neither were very many other champions. At least, not until they

    Agreed.

Nothing in there says that there are NO good sportsmen in F1.

Well all champions are ex-champions apart from the current, and some
have been good sportsmen while they were champions. Which means 2 right now.

Depends on how you define good sportsmen I guess. And your definition
    may be different to others.
