Having ruined the Star Wars Saga with the awful, lazy, copy-cat Sequel
Trilogy (along with JarJar Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy), Rian Johnson
now wants to ruin the Star Wars TV show 'The Mandalorian' as well. :-(
Thnkfully he's unlikely to ever be allowed anywhere near it.

Rian Johnson interested in directing The Mandalorian season 2 episodes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
After sticking it to haters with a certain character and rave reviews
with this weekend's Knives Out, Rian Johnson is ready to return to the
Star Wars universe and direct episodes of the already-ordered second
season of Disney+'s acclaimed The Mandalorian, according to Cinema
Blend.
In an episode of CB's podcast, ReelBlend, Johnson revealed that
despite his The Last Jedi receiving a wildly divided response from
fans, he is more than eager to return to a galaxy far, far away, be it
the next trilogy he may or may not be attached to or the Disney+
series.
"Hell yeah! Man, if I had the time, I would get in there in a
heartbeat," Johnson said. "I had a set visit for Season 1 and it
looked amazing. It looked like so much fun!"
There's been no word on his future with the Lucasfilm franchise, with
some considering the lack of news or updates as a sign it's likely
been cancelled alongside the trilogy being developed by Game of
Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, but fans of the
eighth installment are holding out hope his trilogy is still in the
works.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in
the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the
Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the
travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far
from the authority of the New Republic.
Pedro Pascal (Kingsman: The Golden Circle) stars as a lone Mandalorian
gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. Gina Carano (Deadpool),
Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow
(Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods),
Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) and Nick Nolte (Affliction) also star.
Jon Favreau serves as executive producer and showrunner for the
series, Directors for the first season include Dave Filoni (Star Wars:
The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels), who will be directing the first
episode, plus Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope),
Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates) and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok),
who also provides the voice for bounty hunter IG-88 in the series.
The Mandalorian is executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni,
Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as
co-executive producer. The series is currently streaming on Disney+.
