Former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent Dan Bongino blasted
Democrats for criticizing President Trump's labeling of MS-13
gang members as "animals."
The president described the brutal gang as "animals" during a
roundtable at the White House on Wednesday.
"The Democrats are most assuredly the dopiest party in
[Washington] D.C. because they constantly get baited through
their anti-Trump animus into doing things they wouldn't normally
do," Bongino said on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."
Media outlets also took the president's words out of context,
running stories that claimed he used the term to describe
illegal immigrants more broadly.
"You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t
people, these are animals, and we’re taking them out of the
country at a level and at a rate that’s never happened before,"
Trump said on Wednesday.
Bongino praised Trump not apologizing for the comments he made
and not back-tracking on them.
Trump, however, clarified his remarks in a tweet Friday and
noted that he was only referring to MS-13 members as animals and
not illegal immigrants in general.

@realDonaldTrump
Fake News Media had me calling Immigrants, or Illegal
Immigrants, “Animals.” Wrong! They were begrudgingly forced to
withdraw their stories. I referred to MS 13 Gang Members as
“Animals,” a big difference - and so true. Fake News got it
purposely wrong, as usual!

Bongino also said Democrats' attack on Trump shows voters "who
they really are."
Tucker Carlson added that if people who defend the gang ever
take power, Americans are "in trouble."
"The phoniness of the whole thing just stinks," Bongino said.
