    I watched:

    Is The Great Gatsby Unfilmable?:
    F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby has been adapted for the screen
at least seven times in the nearly 100 years since it was first published.
None of the screen adaptations have been very good. What's up with that? What mistakes have the film and television versions of Gatsby made that cause them to fall short of greatness? Is a satisfactory screen adaptation of this
classic American story even possible? https://youtu.be/65STWS2eEUo?si=Kv-j8Oid0jBFWedy

EXCLUSIVE Look At My New Courtroom TV Show:
Judged, my very own court show, will premiere on April 9th. Watch me wield my newly attained legal power to settle real disputes. https://youtu.be/1FYrjPhgJts?si=wGL7xm5shZmhYpTa

This Might Just Be The Dumbest Reality Show On TV:
Today we're taking a look at another highly requested show that... well man it's just kind of dumb. That show is Mystery Diners and I thought maybe it'd
be a good continuation of restaurant based reality shows we've been covering
so sit back, relax, and enjoy! Or don't it is what it is. https://youtu.be/6_3qUInH9zU?si=75STJsxJBiNf9Qut

Did Disney CHEAT in The Board Vote? | There Should Be an INVESTIGATION By the SEC Expert Says!:
Disney's last hope swirled down the drain today, thanks to Disney investors
who just voted to retain and reinforce the very Board that has lost over $100 Billion in company value over the last two years. George Lucas gave all of
his proxy votes to Bob Iger, the very man who presided over the destruction
of Star Wars, and now Disney investors will have to suffer more losses and
the destruction of the Disney brand. It's all over folks...or is it? There
is an allegation out there, complete with proof I've seen with my own eyes, that Disney may have violated SEC regulations by leaking vote counts ahead of the Shareholder's meeting. Did Disney CHEAT? Here's what's at issue, and we WILL be discussing this tonight on Pop Culture Breakdown at 7 Central / 5 Eastern! #disney #starwars #georgelucas https://youtu.be/-1ph84sf92M?si=tqaH7UyT05lyDxQk

    What did you watch?

Longest workday yesterday, so not much:

    soaps: Wed's ep's.
DOOL - Everett tells Stephanie about his hypnosis session with
Marlena, incl. seeing "dark Bobby Stein", and Stephanie wonders why he
didn't tell Marlena about it (me too!). Later, Jada shows up and gives
them both a hard time; in a really dumb development, Rafe reveals to
Jada that she's still married to "Bobby Stein" at the end... Xander
believes he has found proof of his innocence of the shooting, and he and
Sarah rush to go tell Rafe (who I think bought it?...). Ava tells Harris
that she is done with running The Bistro restaurant.
GH - NuKristina shows up at Nina's office, and is apparently still a
Nina "cheerleader" (surprising!). Then Maxie shows up with Blaze,
introducing Blaze as the "new face of Deception" to Nina; Kristina is
pissed at Blaze about something that must have happened last week.
Later, Maxie gives Nina a hard time about being pathetic in regards to
Sonny, and encourages Nina to leave Sonny in the rear-view mirror (this
    is the way!!). Various people see Dante, before he leaves the hospital;
Sam admits to him that she sees Jason clearly for the first time now.
Gregory gets an update on his ALS's progress (I missed the details).
Chase and Brook Lynn scramble to get their wedding back on track with
    Dante's recovery.

I saw a good chunk of "Chicago Fire" - this was Jocelyn Hudon's first
episode. I was surprised that Brett's second, Violet, is now "paramedic
in charge (PIC)" - I figured Hudon's character would be her boss.
Instead, Hudon's character is clearly supposed to be younger than Violet
    - in fact, Hudon's character seems to be a ripoff of "Chili" (Dora
Madison) from season #4. It's hard to parse whether Hudon's character is
long for this world or not - it'll be interesting to see if she sticks
    around into season #13...

The Twilight Zone S5E29 'The Jeopardy Room' - DVR
An assassin plots a unique death for a defector (Martin Landau) (Comcast)
A defector is trapped in a hotel room and given three hours to find a
    hidden bomb. (IMDb)

    Trivia:
One of a handful of TZ episodes that, notably, contains no science
fiction or fantasy elements. Others include Dust (1961), The Shelter
    (1961), and The Silence (1961).

    Quotes:
    [opening narration]
Narrator: The cast of characters: a cat and a mouse. This is the latter.
The intended victim who may or may not know that he is to die, be it by butchery or ballet. His name is Major Ivan Kuchenko. He has, if events
go according to certain plans, perhaps three or four more hours of
living. But an ignorance shared by both himself and his executioner is
of the fact that both of them have taken a first step - into The
    Twilight Zone.

[Vassiloff and Boris are in Kuchenko's room cleaning up evidence]
Boris - Vassiloff's Assistant: [holding up his gun] Commissar? It
    would've been better, wouldn't it?
Commissar Vassiloff: It's alright. I'll get him in the next city.
Now that I know that he is a most resourceful adversary.
[the phone rings, Boris unthinkingly picks it up]
    Commissar Vassiloff: NO, BORIS!
[an explosion triggered by the phone goes off, Vassiloff and Boris
are killed. The screen cuts to Major Kuchenko on a phone booth at an
    airport]
Phone operator: I'm sorry, sir. The line seems to be disconnected.
I'm unable to reach your party.
Major Ivan Kuchenko: It's alright, operator. I... I have reached them.
[hangs up the phone as his flight to New York City is called for
    boarding]

    [closing narration]
Narrator: Major Ivan Kuchenko, on his way west, on his way to freedom. A freedom bought and paid for by a most stunning ingenuity. And exit one Commissar Vassiloff, who forgot that there are two sides to an argument
and two parties on the line. This has been - The Twilight Zone.

The Twilight Zone S5E30 'Stopover in a Quiet Town' - DVR
The morning after a wild party, a couple wakes up in a totally
    unfamiliar and artificial place. (Comcast)
A hung-over couple awaken to find themselves not only in a strange
house, but in a deserted town, where nothing is as it should be. (IMDb)

    Trivia
This is the second episode that shows two people sharing the same bed
together on television, something unusual at the time. The first was
Person or Persons Unknown (1962). Due to censorship regulations from the networks, TV shows at the time would portray married couples sleeping on separate beds. In both of these cases, the couples were still fully
dressed and had gone to sleep while drunk, thus making it clear to the
    viewer they hadn't "slept" together.
The abandoned town in which the Frazers find themselves is the same
location used for The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street (1960) among
countless other episodes. As the actors move through the 'town,' they
traverse some of the old themed 'street' sets which were then standing
on the old MGM backlot, including the New England Street (aka Andy Hardy Street), the Small Town Street that connects to it, and the small train
depot that faces it. During the closing credits the whole section can
been seen as an L-shape in the background.
Nancy Malone, who plays the wife, Millie, went on to become the first
female vice-president of Television at 20 Century Fox.

    Quotes:
    [opening narration]
Narrator: Bob and Millie Frazier, average young New Yorkers who attended
a party in the country last night, and on the way home, took a detour.
Most of us on waking in the morning know exactly where we are. The
rooster or the alarm clock brings us out of sleep into the familiar
sights, sounds, aromas of home and the comfort of a routine day ahead.
Not so with our young friends. This will be a day like none they've ever
spent, and they'll spend it - in The Twilight Zone.
    [closing narration]
Narrator: The moral of what you've just seen is clear. If you drink,
don't drive. And if your wife has had a couple, she shouldn't drive,
either. You might both just wake up with a whale of a headache in a
deserted village - in The Twilight Zone.

The Twilight Zone S5E31 'The Encounter' - DVR
A World War II veteran and a Japanese-American are trapped in the
    veteran's attic. (Comcast)
Post-WWII Hawaii. Two men of once-opposing races are stuck in an attic
full of war trophies, including a samurai sword waiting to dutifully
    avenge its slain master. (IMDb)

    Trivia
This episode was finally rerun in the United States, on the Syfy
channel, during a complete Twilight Zone marathon on January 3rd, 2016.
Taro "Arthur" Takamori says he was four years old when the Pearl Harbor
attack happened, just like George Takei who plays him.
One of only four The Twilight Zone (1959) episodes to exclusively use,
aside from Rod Serling, only 2 onscreen actors. The others are Nervous
Man in a Four Dollar Room (1960) starring Joe Mantell and William D.
Gordon, Two (1961) starring Elizabeth Montgomery and Charles Bronson,
and A Game of Pool (1961) starring Jack Klugman and Jonathan Winters.

    Quotes
    [opening narration]
Narrator: Two men alone in an attic. A young Japanese-American and a
seasoned veteran of yesterday's war. It's twenty-odd years since Pearl
Harbor, but two ancient opponents are moving into position for a battle
in an attic crammed with skeletons, souvenirs, mementos, old uniforms,
and rusted medals. Ghosts from the dim reaches of the past that will
lead us - into The Twilight Zone.
    [Closing Narration]
Narrator: Two men in an attic locked in mortal embrace. Their common
bond and their common enemy: Guilt - a disease all too prevalent amongst
men, both in and out - of The Twilight Zone.

Even worse, he wasn't running or chasing or hurrying in any way.
He paused deliberately before stepping in, and then did it.

I thought the point was going to be that his hesitation killed

still fully dressed and had gone to sleep while drunk, thus making it
clear to the viewer they hadn't "slept" together.
The abandoned town in which the Frazers find themselves is the same
location used for The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street (1960) among
countless other episodes. As the actors move through the 'town,' they
traverse some of the old themed 'street' sets which were then standing
on the old MGM backlot, including the New England Street (aka Andy
Hardy Street), the Small Town Street that connects to it, and the
small train depot that faces it. During the closing credits the whole
section can been seen as an L-shape in the background.
Nancy Malone, who plays the wife, Millie, went on to become the first
female vice-president of Television at 20 Century Fox.

    Quotes:
    [opening narration]
Narrator: Bob and Millie Frazier, average young New Yorkers who
attended a party in the country last night, and on the way home, took
a detour. Most of us on waking in the morning know exactly where we
are. The rooster or the alarm clock brings us out of sleep into the
familiar sights, sounds, aromas of home and the comfort of a routine
day ahead. Not so with our young friends. This will be a day like none
they've ever spent, and they'll spend it - in The Twilight Zone.
    [closing narration]
Narrator: The moral of what you've just seen is clear. If you drink,
don't drive. And if your wife has had a couple, she shouldn't drive,
either. You might both just wake up with a whale of a headache in a
deserted village - in The Twilight Zone.

A World War II veteran and a Japanese-American are trapped in the
    veteran's attic.  (Comcast)

I have *no* memory of this one.  :-/

At some point I really need to pull out my discs and revisit the show.

It wasn't a particularly good episode and was yanked from syndication
    before the show was syndicated.

    What did you watch?

    Hey, thanks for asking!

    Season two of CARTER

It deserves to share a name with histories’s greatest monster.

So at the end of season one, they announced a format change from him being
a police consultant to becoming a private detective. I predicted that that wasn’t going to be a good move.

Boy howdy do I have a gift for understatement.

So they brought in a new producer from PSYCH, and he proceeded to make it
the most blatant unfunny and gayest copycat of PSYCH imaginable.

The lead picks up a sixth sense, which includes total recall and super observational skills, accompanied by the visual and audio audience cues
PSYCH uses. Instead of calling this a psychic power, they call it his
    actor power.

He introduces his sidekick with stupid made-up names.

They get a new police chief, who they insist on introducing as “interim police chief“ every chance they get.

The lead becomes annoying just for the sake of being annoying, but unlike
    James Roday he’s not funny.

They even get the blue car.

And it’s just full of totally cringe, gay homosexual moments like, men routinely, asking other men what their nipples are like for no discernible reason.

Oh yeah, they added the woody strode coroner character too.

And they break the fourth wall continuously telling the audience they know they’re in the TV show and explaining that the one guy is waiting outside because there are too many characters already in the scene, etc. etc. etc.

And when they end it on a cliffhanger, he announces to the audience they
just ended it on a cliffhanger.

As long as they ended it.
