• [Q] Domains4Less

    From It's A Me@21:1/5 to All on Thu Nov 9 18:02:40 2017
Now that the lazy fools at Vodafone are no longer going to be providing
an email service (and no doubt will continue to charge me $5 per month
for the "privilege" of forwarding emails!), I have find somewhere that
    actually does provide service.

I've decided not use the free places like Gmail since I don't want an
email address like joebloggs-1742@wherever.com, so I'll get my own
domain name with email service and have joebloggs@mydomain.co.nz
    instead.

Does anyone have any comments about Domains4Less?
They seem to be about the cheapest combined domanin name and email
hosting, but are they reliable and safe to use, especially for email?

I've been using them for domain names for several years but haven't
tried their email hosting. They seem fine for domain names.

A friend has been trying their email hosting and my second hand
impression was that it seemed to be a bit fiddly to set up.

I was hosting email on my own server, but I'm in the process of moving
to zoho.com: they offer free email hosting with generous limits for a
single domain name, but pay attention to their anti-spam and usage
policies if you want to sent anything they might classify as a
    newsletter, marketing emails, etc.

zoho.com has an awful website. I think eventually found the free email
hosting you're talking half-way down this page https://www.zoho.com/workplace/pricing.html but there's no real
    information about it.

Just remember it is your domain name and you can shift it, host it where you like.

So apart from the hassle of shifting, everything else remains the same to
    the outside world.

Zoho's free email has a quota system according to this review from September "Zoho Mail is a free email service with unlimited online storage (and
quotas for mail sent and received per day) for personal use." https://www.lifewire.com/zoho-free-email-service-1170841

but Zoho's own email page says
    "FREE PLAN
25 Users + up to 25 referral bonus users
    5GB* /User, 20MB Attachment Limit
    Single domain hosting.
