• Australian church tax law ruling against Church of the Flying Spaghetti

    From Adam H. Kerman@21:1/5 to All on Fri Sep 27 18:01:33 2024
In alt.obituaries, we had word that an advocate for intelligent design, Jonathan Wells, had died, so I did a bit of reading on the Church of the
Flying Spaghetti Monster, may you be touched by his Noodly Appendage.

In Australia, in seeking what appears to be the equivalent in American
tax law that they are described as an exempt organization, the
administrative law judge has made a finding of "That's not funny!"

Folks, official offense has been taken at the use of racist and sexist
terms in the making of bad puns, like referring to the books of the
Bible as the Old Testicle and the New Testicle. Religion must not be
satirized to obtain the benefit of recognition in tax law.
