    Hello,

Is it possible to have an iPhone 12 mini to talk from my iPhone typings
while on the phone call for being deaf?

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

I believe that setting only reads what's already on the screen, it
    doesn't necessarily do text-to-speech.

Ant: I believe what you might want is RTT/TTY Relay Call https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207033

AFAIK this involves a third party.

There are also several apps on the App Store that purport to do
text-to-speech. I can't recommend any of them, because I do not have experience, but you might want to try some out with some hearing
friends, to see if they match the experience you want.

Yeah, relay is the third party which I am trying to avoid because of
private conversations. I wished more companies and people would use
direct text messagings instead of oral phone calls.

    Yeah, someone suggested https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nagish-live-transcribe-calls/id1514154600
but it wanted private information like SS#, DOB, etc. :(

Are there any apps that will speak out a PDF or epub book for the blind?

I just tried it with Pages. The text is vocalized as I type. The “speak screen” option is the one that reads what is already on the screen. Just offering this as a suggestion. Something else might work better.
