No, it is very good at keeping you out of the hospital,
it's even better if you keep your vaccination "current". I.e.
if it's been 6 months since you second shot, get a 3rd shot
with any of Moderna, Pfizer or J&J.

Yes new variant specific vaccines would be better, but
for now use what we have. My guess is that we are going
to have a future of annual COVID shots which contain a mixture
of against 3 or 4 specific variants, just like we do with
annual flue shots.

the rest of the population. At the beginning of the vaccination
programs a greater percentage of whites were getting
vaccinated it it was claimed that this was because blacks
were distrustful of vaccines. However, someone took a closer
look at the data and realized that the early vaccines were
primarily being available in white neighbourhoods. When clinics
were opened in non-white areas the vaccination rates evened out.

Actually, I would expect a slightly higher vaccine uptake
in non-white areas since the anti-vax message is being pushed
most strongly by right-wing politicians and media.
