    Now days the US only import 22% of its oil needs from the M-East!
    Pretty much self-sufficient!
    All ready exports LPG and some oil to the EU!

    Yes, buying a put MIGHT give you a bug gain, but the big guys
    selling puts have a lot of research indicating it will
    expire worthless.

    I sell options also. You want them to expire worthless If I had long options that expired worthless it was because they were "protection" for long shares or short options. They were intended to expire worthless because they were used for
    protection of the trade going against you.

    Owned a 426 put today and SPY ended at 421. My put was worth $500.

    This week with the war in the middle east, it was very easy to make money on SPY puts.

    Buy SPY? You think the market is going up? A recession is coming. You want to sell SPY.
