PORTLAND, Ore. — Roughly 160,000 customers in the Portland metro area are without power Saturday afternoon as the region deals with the impact of a winter storm that has brought freezing temperatures, high winds, snow,
sleet and freezing rain to the region.

At 4:37 p.m., PGE's outage map showed there were about 3,392 outages
impacting nearly 160,000 customers across the northwest part of the state.

Pacific Power reported more than 43,000 customers without power throughout western Oregon and Clark Public Utilities reported nearly 7,000 customers without power, as of about 4:30 p.m.

On Saturday afternoon, in a news release, PGE said many of the outages are
due to trees or branches falling onto power lines. PGE said nearly 400
workers are out assessing damage and restoring service.

"PGE is working to restore power as quickly and safely as conditions
allow," the company said in the release. "Crew responses may be impacted
by snow, high winds, road conditions or fallen trees."
