• Insulin in Texas?

From _@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jul 8 09:05:43 2021
Regarding the following excerpts from the
following article which used diabetes without
clarifier -7- times, the 'type 1' clarifier -2- times,
the 'type 2' clarifier -1- time (article dated July
7 2021, see sig for descriptions of new superior
clarifying terms I used in my comments): https://www.kens5.com/article/news/health/texans-granted-affordable-insulin-options-with-new-law-new-walmart-brand/273-90ad896c-8e4a-4a69-929d-8a260fb21bbf

... “Insulin…it’s like the air we breathe,” Jen-
nifer Wimpee said as she changes her insulin
    site. ...

    ------
Comment: Hmmm, even though the phrase
insulin pump wasn't in the article, I presume
Jennifer is referring to where she is inserting
the part of an insulin pump that allows her exo-
genous insulin to enter her body.
    ------

... Jennifer Wimpee ... says next month will
mark 28 years since she was diagnosed with
    Type 1 Diabetes. ..

    ------
Comment: Jennifer, 70% chance she got Islit
under age 30, it's unfortunate that the article
failed to mention when Jennifer was diagnosed.
    ------

... “When I hear someone say they have to
either have to choose to eat or get their medi-
cation, it’s heart wrenching,” Wimpee says.

    ------
Comment: As I've stated many times, even
before the Texas law mentioned in the article
& the new Walmart low price for Novolog was
    announced, affordable low-price Regular &
NPH insulins were & are available at Walmart
for $24.88 each for 10 ml vial, so there was ...

... no reason for Islit individuals to ration or go
without insulin unless they were totally unaware
of that fact, a fact that everyone with Islit should
    be made totally aware of.
    ------

... South Texans expect cost-sharing prices to
be capped at $25 for a 30-day supply starting
in September 1, for those with insurance. ...

    ---
Comment: Those with insurance, no help for
individuals who've lost their job & health insur-
ance. Right now, thanks to Medicare/Humana,
I have enough insulin for the rest of the year,
Fiasp which I use in an insulin pump & under
my current plan it costs $125 for 3 month 5-vial ...

... supply, total 50 ml. Don't know how that new
law will impact what I pay in the future or if it will
lower my price but my price is so low it wouldn't
lower it much until the point I would go into the
Medicare 'donut hole' (itself, a disgraceful part
of the current system that shouldn't exist).
    ------

... “Even people who don’t have type 1 but have
type 2, they develop an insulin dependence, so
    it’s vital,” ...

    ------
Actually, the mere 5.3% of Cellosis individuals
who use exogenous insulin, many can stop &
switch to other medications so it's inaccurate
to refer to them with the misleading 'insulin
dependent' phrase, as due to their continued
    problematic endogenous insulin pro
