    Also of note, the premature removal of the
    facemask mandate has amplified the Covid-19
    resurgence.

    The widespread incidence recurrence of the
    spread of Covid-19 caused by the Delta variant
    has cause the U.S. 7-day moving average to be
    76,694 as of July 30 2021.

    It was 63,319 as of July 25 2021. The U.S. now
    has the highest incidence rate of Covid-19 in the
    world, a huge increase since the 1st week in July
    2021.

    The last time the U.S. rate was that high was in
    mid-February 2021, although then Covid-19 inci-
    dence was on a steep decline in the U.S., now it
    is on a steep rise since a low incidence in the U.S.
    of < 10,000 the first week in July.

    The U.S. seems blind to the resurgence, the
    NFL (for example) still planning to have huge
    crowds at football games, the former nation-
    wide requirement for facemasks not yet rein-
    stituted (only happening in some places), and
    top leadership sending a mixed message.

    If the rapid rise continues, the U.S. may within
    a month top the previous U.S. high 7-day aver-
    age of new cases of over 250,000 which took
    place at the start of the year.

    Note about the following: the Delta variant has
    a significant risk of infecting even the fully vac-
    cinated, who can pass the infection to others.

    Even though the infection is typically less se-
    vere in the fully vaccinated, it can cause hospi-
    talization & death. An estimated one-half of 1%
    of Covid deaths are in those who've been fully
    vaccinated.
