• jitsi on FreeBSD

From Bob Eager@21:1/5 to All on Sat May 30 12:59:59 2020
There is now a jitso port for FreeBSD (jitsi is an open source
conferencing system similar to ZOO, Microsoft Teams, Blackboard
    Collaborate, etc.).

First, thanks to all who worked on this port. I looked at this a while
ago and was totally confused by it all!

I have installed jitsi in a FreeBSD jail and it works very nicely. I
wrote down what I did so that I could do it again in rather less time.
Then I got a bit carried away.

What resulted was a detailed document on how to set it all up - and a
few other bits. It might be useful to others.

    See http://www.bobeager.uk/jitsi.html for details.

Thanks -- this is good to know. May give it a try on one of my
    second-tier platforms.

I've been running it in a jail on an HP microserver. My DSL isn't all
that fast in an 'up' direction, and it can just about handle four users.

I've just spun up an AWS instance, and will test more when I've sorted
out certificates. Easy install - just tar'd up the jail and sent it over!
