The claim is that this will force encryption in ways that SMTP has
failed. That's a good thing, but the proposal comes from Google,
Microsoft, Yahoo, Comcast and LinkedIn. None of these companies are
socially responsible, and four of them use e-mail tactics that violate
existing RFCs and work to block smaller providers.
I've not read it yet, but when I do I will be look for shenanigans
that make it difficult for small providers to run a mail server, or
for individuals to run a null-mailer (a self-serving server).
