However, this did catch my eye. I don't know why I can't use E-S
anymore, when two people I wrote to are still using it. However I
registered twice and I still can't use it. I'm using aeio instead.

I was wondering the same. Blocknews let me download posts but not
upload. It started working today. Just a guess that a server went down
and everyone was at home for the holiday and rebooted this morning.
It's turned out to be complicated.
I got new headers just fine at around 9:30AM Dec. 24, but then 5 minutes
later I couldn'n't post.

Maybe they wrote me at the bigfoot address I had used, but bigfoot
stopped working a couple years ago. But they had never written me ever
before so I hadn't changed my address.
Long story short, I registered at Eternal September under another email
address and I was able to get headers once and maybe post once, but no
more.
Then I thought, I shouldnh't have used the same userid, even though they
don't edit it, so registered a 3rd time and again I was able to use it
once.
So I went to aioe.org where you don't even have to register. By this
time I was pretty far behind on ahr and though it worked in quieter
ng's, nothing happened when I tried to get headers, so I only asked for
1000 and that worked. Then I asked for 2000 and that worked. Actually
only downloaded 1400 and something. So I'm caught up
And I could post, but then it said "Too much connection time for one
process", so I closed Forte Agent for the whole night but the next
morning it said the same thing
So then I went to Usenet Farm. Some Best News Servers website said I'd
get 10GB free, which might be enough for months or years. Well I could
fetch but not post, and that's what the FAQ says, unless you pay. So I
paid $8 for 2 months
And it works but if I have headers I got with E-S, it won't fetch the
bodies. It complains about msgid. -- I didn't have this problem when
switching from Erols/RCN to Verizion or from Verizon to
Eternal-September -- and gettting headers again won't get a second copy
of the one I can't fetch. Now the only way is to delete the previous
header and Sample headers again (which gets headers older than where I
am positionsed now.) That works, but I'm hoping E-S will reply to my
letter and tell me what is wrong. If so, I'd rather use e-s and I dont'
want to have to delete and refetch a lot of headers.
At the start of this, I wrote to two other users of E-S and they both
said it was working for them.
Oh, and then after I got new headers in AHR, not sure if by aioe or by
Usenet Farm, I saw hundreds of posts like this. About 1400 of them!!!!
Are you seeing them too? I sort of doubt it. And 3 or 4 in quieter
ng's. But were they really cancelled? I remember getting answers for
some of these. And of course they all show up in my reader, but that
doesn't proove they were propogated.
And why did E-S even attempt to cancel them? Becuase my email address
was no good and when they wrote me about that, I didn't get the email
and didn't answer???? Because Arlen is feels wronged even though he has
not been wronged and he is vindictive?
