    Google Groups stopped adding new Usenet newsgroups sometime in the 2010's.

    The Usenet newsgroup alt.comp.software.thunderbird was only created in
    2021, several years after Google Groups had stopped adding new Usenet newsgroups.

    forum below which shut down on April 3, 2021: https://groups.google.com/g/mozilla.support.thunderbird .

    There was plenty of interest in discussing Thunderbird in the 00's.
    The Thunderbird forum has moved more than once.
